  1. It certainly does suck. I’ve had back issues for over twenty years. Bulging discs. Three of them. A week ago last Thursday I had to go to the ER at 2 am. I could barely breathe due to muscle spasms from the disc issues. Since then I’m about 95% back to normal. I’m ready to get back to night fishing! 🎣

  2. I used to really love glocks. I still do. I bought a M&P Shield 9mm about a year ago that was on sale at Academy and I reach for it about 90% of the time now. It’s accurate, slim, light weight, conceals nicely, shoots every time, and feels great in my hand. It’s a very sweet EDC.

There are things you can control - and things you just can't.

The older I get, the more wisdom I see in taking care of the things you can control - and leaning on insurance for the stuff you can't.

I'm certain there are a bunch of folks in Houston who wish they had left before the storm - and are in exactly the same place now regardless of the fact that they stayed.

Mind you, all of that comes from my middle class perspective having options and means to leave.  There are a lot of places in the path of this storm where that's not going to be the case.

The Serenity Prayer comes to mind.  God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.

Watching this one closely,  3 brothers, 2 children, and an 86 year old mom all in the projected path.

If I were you I'd tell them to leave NOW while plenty of fuel is available and before the highways get crowded.

Emm....well maybe I should say if I was them I'd leave NOW while plenty of fuel is available and before the highways get crowded. There...that's much less bossy...haha.

Grilled salmon with broccoli and pasta here. It was quite tasty.

Whoa....I love me some grilled salmon for sure! I also love it cooked real slow in real butter in a carbon steel skillet covered with fresh chopped dill! Very good indeed! I usually do a baked sweet 'tater with mine.

  7. Just the other day a song popped into my head for no apparent reason. I haven't heard it in years. It never plays on the radio anymore and again it hasn't played that I know of in years. It was driving me crazy. I could remember the beat, I could hum the chorus, well no one else would have recognized it with me humming it but it was in my head ya know.....but I couldn't remember even one word. It was driving me a bit nuts the way these sorta things do. I couldn't remember the band, the singer, nothing. I could hear the beat clearly. ba bum bum bum ba....ba bum bum bum ba.....ba bum bum bum ba.......I finally remembered one word and that word was "love" so I had this:

"love...ba bum bum bum ba...." I finally figured it out. Anyone want to guess what it was? If you don't want to play my little game, then scroll down and you'll find the answer.....

  8. Last year was really bad. Wildfires all over with absolutely no water to be found on my lease. I don't know where the deer were drinking. The smoke was so bad, even during muzzle loader and the first few weeks of rifle season, that I had to leave because of the strong smell of smoke. I managed one spike last year, but I'm hoping for a much better season. Won't be long!
