  1. In theory it improves accuracy. The op rod guide is replaced by a sage one that attaches to the stock by 3 screws. So with that and the triggerguard lock it is designed to be more accurate. We will see.
  2. As the man said this is a Sage stock put on an M1a . It uses a standard M1a Springfield, Armscorp, Fulton arms etc . I did put them together but that is too hard, but since I am all thumbs when it comes to gunsmithing I was pretty proud to complete them. The Mag is not present. It should stick down like a normal M1a or M14 but it is not inserted in the rifle in this picture.
  3. No not 7.62x39 but 7.62x51 or 308 winchester. they both should have a 20 round m14 mag sticking out the bottom.

    New toys

Sure had fun putting them together. I need scope and mount suggestion to complete the lower one.
  5. Do you have a reference law for this. I thought the law referenced Dirks , Daggers and Switchblades. Please point me in the direction of the law so I can educate myself. http://michie.lexisnexis.com/tennessee/lpext.dll/tncode/e501/ed40/eff5/effc?fn=document-frame.htm&f=templates&2.0# Looked here couldn't find reference. Thanks
  6. Yeah it is a gold coin in the ivory.
  7. Don't forget you can join the TMCA and get in free to the shows for 1 year for no admission price.
  8. The lesson learned is to tale a blond with you as bait!! There are tactics to combat inept service. I would not have gone back. I will not twist some business's arm to take my money. There are plenty of good gun shops that are eager to take your money. Yes you may need to pay 10% more for the same firearm but, you will get service.

I had an opportunity to "borrow" one from a friend and I must say I was impressed with function, accuracy and the lack of recoil. Groups from 20 yards were about 2". Recoil was, To me , More straight back , not the usual muzzle flip usually associated my usual 45. I really liked the 20 rd mag. My 20 year old son commented that it is a perfect zombie killer!!! I do question the terminal ballistics of the 5.7 . It is very light and very fast.
  10. If that doesn't work out try the Maury County Gun Club in Columbia. Its not too far and reasonable. Skeet (6), Trap, rifle (200 yds), Pistol(3 berms)
  11. You are not considered paranoid until you decide what your shower holster and gun combination will be!!!
  12. Did you have a chance to shoot the HS? Could you give me your impressions. I have seen a few of these locally very reasonablly priced.
  13. I usually do not carry but I do have one at arms length, on coffee table, on end table etc. Oh by the way I have no children in my home at any time and I put the firearms in the safe during the day.
  14. YEah what ETS said, I have had him do a M19 Smith and he did a very good job.
  15. Yes that is different that a "normal" 45 round. This used a special small pistol primer, of course the standard 45 acp uses a large one. This primer may be crimped in like the military rounds and is causing a small ring to break off, I have never seen a military crimp to break off. Did this cause a malfunction when you shot? I suppose this could cause a failure if the piece got in the wrong place in the pistol. Does your range require you to shoot this type of ammo, some indoor ranges do because it does have reduced lead particles and is safer. How expensive is this ammo?
  16. The case says "federal NT".Is this a reduced lead load or special indoor load? It appears these have small pistol primers in them. I suspect this may be causing the problem. Any one else tried these small primer loadings???
  17. I find a 20 works fine on stations 1,2,6,7,8 the 12 does help on stations 3,4,5 so if you are starting you may shoot higher scores with a 12 but once you are more experienced a 12 is not as much help.
  18. I have started using RIG +P and have been very pleased, Its available at sports academy. Otherwise I use the wilson white grease.
  19. One can spend a lot or a little getting started reloading it. I usually recommend that people start on a single stage so they can completely learn the operations of reloading, it makes it easier when you start loading on a progressive. I also suggest you contact someone who can walk you therough the process and learn from someone who is already an acpmolished reloader , it saves some difficulty. With the prices of factory rounds ( including Walmart Blazer brass up 4.00 this week locally) increasing regularly we may all spend more time at the reloading bench. But this is not a bad situation , I remember back in the day when I enjoyed reloading almost as much as shooting it.
  20. I really like the Corbon 200 grain JHP if it will feed in your pistol. If this will not feed then the 230 gr Hydrashock works well and feeds easier in most pistols.
  21. Is this ring caused by the Primer crimp? If it is i have never seen this happen before. Could you post pictures of the brass that the ring came off of?
  22. I have been 4 times over the last 10 years or so. If you have never been its worth a go and expecially if its in Vegas and you have not been there either. It is frustrating that you can't purchase much there. Most is for display only and you must come back to order item. Some of the dealers will sell items on the last day of the show at great prices however only parts or non restricted items. The police area is particularly intersting.
  23. I have seen very little change in his shows. Most seem to be the same dealers. The layout of the show is around the horse show area and for some reason I don't like being able to keep an eye on activity. Maybe its just me. I do like the ease of getting to the show and parking has not been a problem. As ou know his shows are 3 day shows but now fridays are restriced to member of a certain Gun collectors association , the name escapes me at the time. You will be allowed to sign up at the door I am sure. Its still a better show than the Goodman show for trying to pick up collectables.
  24. The gunshop near Dick's on Charlotte pike stocks several good guality holsters.
