The lesson here: get wounded serving your country, and get stuck with paying the bill.

Yes the VA paid the bill, but only AFTER this story broke and the VA was pushed by a Congressman to pay...had this arm twisting not happened--the veteran would still be stuck with the bill.

I had to go take a Prilosec after reading that article. It reminds me of my uncle after coming home from Vietnam. Dealing with the VA is a PITA. My uncle actually called and talked to Nancy Reagan about getting help. That is a funny story in itself.

That kind of attitude really gets to me with these VA docs.
