HB 1005/SB 1503 up in Finance committes this week

Recommended Posts

Grills' HB 1005 as amended is up in Finance this week, it has a positive fiscal note so it SHOULD pass out, would have thought it would pass on the floor prior to the debacle of removing Gloria Johnson failed by one vote, but who knows now.

SB 1503, gutted as it is by Taylor will be un in Finance on the Senate side as well.

Both iterations are bad bills, though HB 1005 does somewhat take away the power of the Departments to continue to enforce the unconstitutional premise of possessing a firearm by a non felon as a crime, and allows the possession of a long gun as a right like 42 other states do.

If both pass (I have no hope the 33 would read and comport to the Constitutions and the Bruen ruling however) the whole shebang might be corrected in conference committee, but I am not holding my breath.
