Volunteer opportunities in Cleveland TN

As some of you know, my wife and I volunteer at the Tri-State Equine Therapy Riding program in Cleveland. My wife is the Volunteer Coordinator.

We need more volunteers.

The program puts kids and adults with various physical and metal disabilities on specially trained horses. The goal is to increase focus/concentration, flexibility and muscle tone. It works. One rider has such severe cerebral palsy that it used to take several volunteers just to hold him up on the horse. He can now ride largely unassisted, and is walking with crutches only. That is just one example.

Volunteers do such things as leading the horses around the ring, walking next to the rider as a safety person, assist with mounting, etc. and help care for the stalls and horses.

We have a great need right now for evening and weekend volunteers. No commitment for time is necessary. Training is provided and easy to complete.

Horse experience is a plus, but we can train just about anyone to help out in some capacity.

You get as much out of as as you put it.

If you are interested, or need more information, pm me, or email my wife, Deb at debrina14@yahoo.com

Be sure to mention TGO or Trisate in the subject line. (and remind her to join TGO! She's a shooter!)

Oh, BTW, the center is easy to get to from Chattanooga, etc. It's right off 75 on the South end of Cleveland.

By the way, in case I wasn't clear, we don't try to lock you into a schedule. You do what you can, when you can. Regularity is a plus, but we understand people have busy lives.
