East Nashville Talk on Legal Aspects of Self-Defense

Recommended Posts

The community is invited to a one-evening class on legal aspects of self-defense in Tennessee. This will be held at 7:30 PM, Monday October 15 at the new East Sector Police Station Community Meeting Room. This is located on E. Trinity Lane just off Ellington Parkway.

The talk will cover what steps a private citizen can legally take to defend himself and his property in this state. There have been an unfortunate number of incidents in East Nashville recently and citizens ought to know what their rights and obligations are. Questions and answers will follow a 30-40 minute presentation.

The talk will be given by local attorney John Harris. Mr. Harris, an East Nashville native, has extensive practice experience in this area and is the author of a book "Carrying A Handgun For Self-Defense In Tennessee."

The talk is sponsored by Eastside Gun Shop (258-4080)on Trinity Lane in East Nashville.

Reminder for the folks here: State law forbids private citizens from carrying weapons into the station. Bummer.
