Does anyone know of any Gun Stores in or around Nashville that have a wide selections of holsters.

I'm looking at the MTAC but don't think anyone keeps those locally.

I would still like to try some others just to see whats out there.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Greenes carries what I listed above.

I don't think anyone carries MTACs, Bladetech (that I've seen) or any of the more custom stuff.

Greenes DID have a left handed HK USP Compact Blackhawk rig on the rack when I went hunting

OT, but I'll say holsters are a tough thing to carry. Every gun potentially has about 3-4 different ones (leather, kydex, right hand, left hand etc). You end up carrying a ton of them and still dont have the right one. And if you try to charge enough to cover the investment them it is easy to undercut your price. Very tough business and I admire a shop with a big selection.

great, It'll be nice to see various options

I don't think I'll find the MTAC in any store anyway but I don't mind ordering online.

I'll probably end up with a few different types just to have different carry options.

I bet that is a hard item to stock, same reason I don't sell computer parts.. way way too many variations.

Thanks all!

Make your own. There are instructions to be found on the www. Kydex is cheap. Leather is available in Nashville (Tandy Leather Factory). Or if you prefer, look at North Coast Knives on the www to buy a small piece of leather and the Kydex too. In one evening, you can have your own custom job.

Rabbi..I can't even begin to imagine the trouble you'd have trying to stock all the various holsters on the market today.

Its impossible. I worked at Gun Mart at one time. They had a big wall of holsters, leather and kydex. It was probably over $10k in inventory.

The story was the same:

Guy comes in looking for a left-handed IWB holster for a luger pistol, with retention strap. You'd flip through all the holsters and finally, after 15 minutes lo and behold you find one.

"Sir, this will fit your gun," you say triumphantly.

"Oh, this one is black and I wanted brown."

"But this one is $10 more than I could order on line for."

etc

etc.

Rinse, repeat.

It gets frustrating. And expensive. I cant say my solution of just not carrying them works well either as I have lost plenty of sales that way.

The one on Charlotte Pike? If so I thought you looked familiar

That was my favorite place to buy leather. I was almost always able to walk in and find LH stuff without fail.

Have you tried Guns and Leather in Greenbrier? They have a great selection (about two to three rows). Their gun range has two sections, both electronics targets. Bring your pistol and shoot till your blue. PM me and I'll shoot with you.

Another plug for Guns and Leather. They have a BUNCH of holsters. Good prices, and while you are there, a truckload of guns and the best indoor range in the area.

I was in Greene's on Lebanon pike earlier this week (just up the street from Twin Rivers Ford), and they had about the best assortment of holsters of any place I've ever seen. But, as the Rabbi said, it is almost impossible to ever carry a complete line of something on this order.
