this may be a dumb ? but is it possible to set up a low light or no light stage? like say u wake up middle of night and bg is in the house, as for how to do it my thinkin would be to cover the stage in black poly or tarps

i think it would be a great stage and would not mind suppling the poly to do it what are everybodys thoughts on this

At one of my old clubs in Michigan they would do this. It can really slow down the flow of a match if you aren't careful. They should also be shot blind as in no rehearsal or walkthrough. They also took to setting a liberal par time for them. Don't drop any points! I highly enjoyed them.

I've shot 5 low-light stages, IIRC.

Standard IDPA stage, but at an indoor range with the light out. You start like normal, but draw a gun and a light at the buzzer. Reloads, movement, whatever. Just like a normal stage.

You can do fun things though... We've done one where we had 8 targets, and had clip-on hands to designate 2 as no-shoots. We'd move them for each shooter.

It's something everyone should practice. It's convinced me that I don't need night sights, that's for sure. The proper grip on both the gun and the light, and your irons stand out just fine.

You learn a lot of things quickly. For instance, I don't aim my light directly at the targets. Like driving through fog, the light washes out in the smoke after a couple of rounds, and you can't see much.
