I just got back from Black Warrior WMA, inside the Bankhead National Forest in Alabama. They have a special hog hunt 1-14 March, it requires a small game license, but you can use a large game weapon. A buddy of mine left yesterday and spent the night out there expecting to see something. We got to a trail head and ventured for a couple hours, until we decided to setup for the night. We saw more signs than you could imagine, rooting and wallowing all over. Their wasn't a sighting to be had by us, or another hunter on his way out.

We did the mid week overnight to avoid the mass groups over the weekend. After thinking about it, it would probably be a better tactic to use a large group to move them.

For the 2 hour drive and a $40 permit, it was a great time to get out of town and hike about. I would be down for another trip next week/weekend. If anybody wants to get out of town and try a little hog hunting I would help make a trip of it.
