I use Hoppes stuff in my long guns primarily. Occasionally a CLP.

For my handguns, I clean with Hoppes, then lube the contact points with GunButter. I like the red color so I can see where it goes, and it seems to cling a lot better rather than run all over the damn place. Has a great needle-esque applicator so the lube goes right where you want it.

Curiously, Lucas Oils apparently makes a similar red colored gun lube, but its less viscous (a little more runny)

Ditto on the Kleen Bore. It is very inexpensive which allows you to add your own little items such as nylon brushes, TONS of patches, etc. I bought one for my girlfriend in .38/.357 at Guns & Leather and paid all of $5.00 for it. It was in the bin with the closeout items.
