I would be very interested in learning some solid facts regarding what happened to this pistol.

I would, too. Several lawsuit crazies around on this. I guess reloads are just evil. I Like Pie's assumption makes sense

and is also found on factory loads.

My friend bought some "factory" reloads from Classic Arms in the Memphis area.  They were from who ever markets them in Oakland.  The bullets were lead...he had a squib before he finally stopped shooting them.  They were filthy rounds with a ton of smoke/powder when fired.

Something to be aware of.  Only shoot factory or your own reloads.

Oriental, I don't think its quite lawsuit material yet.  If they were indeed from the range, that range owes a new pistol though.

scoutfsu, I have a box of reloaded .45 acp from the company in Oakland. It was $18 for a box of 50 (loose in the box). Have not shot them yet but should I be concernered?

I would say yes.  At the very least, you need to pay attention to how your pistol cycles.  Talked to him the other day before I left and it was 2 squibs, not one. I've encouraged him to contact the shop he bought it from and for them to get with that company but I don't know if he's done that or not.
