WTF, I'll give it a try. My short answer is I'm not sure, but probably. I do not believe there are any restrictions on being a felon in possession of a bow and arrow, like there are on being in possession of a firearm. I am about 95% sure there are no state restrictions, but I'm not as sure about federal laws. I'd also want to know if a felon can get a hunting license. I haven't seen anything in the Tenn. hunting laws that says you can't be a felon to get a license, but I can't say for sure. So I'd say it's ok, but if you want to know for sure keep looking around.

I really do not think there are any problems with this under TN law, but this is kind of an exotic question and I've never heard or found anything about it. There's nothing about bows and arrows in the "weapons" section of the TN Code, and I do not believe there is anything about being a felon and having a bow and arrow in the wildlife resources section either. Again, federal laws may say something different. A bow and arrow could "affect interstate commerce" just like anything else under the sun, so they could have some kind of law against them being possessed by felons. That'd be kind of strange to me, but you never know what those crazy feds will do.

I dont THINK its a problem, I mean, he can buy a bow, he can get a license...so there is nothing saying he CANT...isnt there a place to call that he can find out? Maybe the fish and game or something...
