Top tier carry kit here. Just moving on to something else. Will come with everything you get from the factory, as well as the Accur8 sights from Night Fision installed, and the Shield Arms Gen 3 S15 carry kit. (3 mags and the metal mag catch). Carried lightly and shot little. I am camping now but will get pics up as soon as I get home. It’s all in excellent shape though. $600 in the Memphis / Collierville / West TN area.

Good stuff! I had no idea they weren’t tubeless. The Shoei is definitely requiring some break in but I’ve been told it will get there. The ratchet and strap seem to hit right on the adams apple. -

So I went to a local shop and looked at each of the helmets you guys mentioned above. I had actually settled on an HJC i100 modular but they only had one left in my size (the display) and it was a few years old. The owner talked me in to trying on a Shoei GT Air II which felt amazing. Since the Air 3 is out now, he made me a great deal on it. I am still in the break in period but am really liking the way it fits and love the ratchet chin strap system. For $100 more than what the HJC cost, I am very happy. I do wish it was modular but I couldn’t pass up the deal. I’ve also got a short list of a few more items I’d like to get for the daily commute but I rode it in this morning and loved it. -

Took it out for a longer ride this evening and can confirm that a taller windshield will add to the comfort 100%. As it is now, the wind buffeting is pretty rough at highway speeds. Since my helmet is a few years out of date, I’ll likely just get a moderately price full face. After some research today, I agree with you folks. Full face is better for the health of my face. -

I just ordered a taller windshield. I bet that will help tremendously based on what YouTube shows. Apart from that, I’m gonna go hit the local wildlife preserve area. -

So having been a cruiser with windshield kind of guy I am used to wearing half helmets. Using that helmet on this bike leaves me feeling vulnerable to face strikes and excessive dust and crap in my face. Can you give me some helmet advice? I’m leaning towards a 3/4 with a screen. I have a full face but it’s not the best fitting and is a little on the cheaper side. I don’t really like the feeling of being in a bubble. I’m hoping 3/4 will preserve at least some of the connection to the outside. I guess maybe I could just buy a taller windscreen. -

Wellllllll, I ended up just buying a new Kawasaki KLR650 today. Had it marked down since it is a 2023. Travel package with ABS. -

The earlier DL-650 sold but I am going in tomorrow to sell one of our cars so I will have a bit more budget to work with. Looking at some of the newer models in the $4000-$50000 range. How are these things in the rain? I’m hoping to make it into a daily commuter. -

Luckily I still have all of my good jackets and helmets. I honestly hadn’t thought of the more upright bikes. I know I don’t want a sport bike. I will want some sort of bags or compartment at minimum and I’d like something the wife could ride along on for short trips around the house. I could push the budget up a bit for the perfect bike but would still be choosy.
