As has been noted earlier, you will probably never need to present your pistol and, if you do, you will possibly not even need to press the trigger. The presence of the gun alone may be enough to deter the threat at hand.
If it's not, then IMHO, it all comes down to shot placement much more so than the difference in a 9x17 round or a 9x19 round....85 or 90 grain bullet vs. a 115 grain bullet. Shot placement is king even if you were pocket carrying a .45.
As to the P3AT, bear in mind it's not a range gun or a plinker. It's a pistol you'll carry a lot, but shoot a little.

if I'm not mistaken, just get it transferred to Tn without taking the class, but taking the class is a good idea since much of it is aquainting you with Tn. Handgun Carry law.
Actually, he's going to have to take the class. Florida is one of the states that TDOS says their training requirement is not substantially similar to ours, so he'll have to take the HCP course......(I know a terrific HCP instructor
) but he should only have to pay the $ 50.00 renewal fee and not the $ 115. -
Tennessee will honor your Florida credentials for up to six months after you move here.
I'd probably take the class as soon as you get a Tennessee address, so you will have some overlap while you wait on the Tennessee HCP.

Here's one of the articles I saw. It explains how .410 is sufficient for close-in home defense, but eliminates most over penetration concerns for folks like apartment dwellers.
This article was OP in 1992, so there's no telling how long this gun has been out of production.

It's a .410 bore pump gun fitted with a laser in the fore end, and youth stocks. It was marketed exclusively as a HD gun, and their niche market was women. I think they titled it the "HS 410" or something similar to that.
Supposedly it even came with a basic shotgun training and home defense video.
Quick search on the Mossberg website didn't give me anything.

As of Monday, Rifle & Handgun were full. Still some room in Shotgun.
Handgun waiting list was the best I could do.
$ 600 per course to TR and $ 100 per to Shootrite.

Walters State Community College in Morristown and Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland both run POST Certified Basic Police Academies. Almost anybody with the money and a clean background can put themselves through those schools. When you graduate you are POST "certifiable". Get hired by somebody and you become POST "certified".
TLETA in Donelson (The "State" Academy) primarily trains rookie officers who have already been hired by a department, but TLETA has been known to accept Criminal Justice majors on a space available basis. They must also pay their way through.
Ballpark for any of the 3 is around $2000-$2500.

Yes.....sometimes. The officer can have his dispatcher (or do it himself if he has a MDT laptop) run a search for a DL on the registered owner that the plate comes back to.
Of course, the registered owner may not be driving the car at that time, but if he is, the officer can have his DL information available even before the traffic stop is initiated.

I've got an XD40 Service, and an XD9 Subcompact. I love 'em.
