It's all about mass influencing of society to 'feel' a certain way, by manipulating the issues presented, to accomplish their agenda... We need a tin-foil hat Emote, Tungsten!

You definitely need to ask for some money to-boot on that deal... Big difference in street value. (not bashing Glocks, just making a valid observation... I'd say the same thing if it was a used XD)

That's exactly what I was thinking. Sad... Some of my ancestors were tortured in concentration camps... I wonder if I could claim discrimination and irresponsibility for my actions due to the anguish of my opressed lineage, if I felt 'disadvantaged' to the point of behaving like a barbarian devoid of remorse, principle and concience.

They should really make murder and violence illegal ... All this beating around the bush accomplishes nothing. I agree with your analysis jg, violence feeds on itself... only the perception ever really changes.

It wouldn't me vandalism to put flyers on the windshield of the cars in the parking-lot though...

Or, One of these would fit into a much smaller pack... if money is not as much of a concern. http://serbu.com/top/superShorty.php

It'd be cheaper to put together one's own survival kit... realistically... Besides, a shotgun with just a pistol-grip would be more difficult for some people to use effectively. I'd prefer a folding stock, at least.

Alright. 2 days out, let's nail this down... How does 11:30am @ Moe's this Saturday sound to those who are coming? -

I suppose an unloaded gun is better than nothing... Still, this could have ended very badly... At the time, I'm sure that it was a risk worth taking. I'm very glad that it came to an end without any permanent harm. -
Beretta uses very interesting methods for delaying blow-back... locking blocks and rotating barrels. Even the 9000 uses direct locking to the slide (similar to a fixed locking-block)... Come to think of it, I've never seen any Beretta pistol with a Browning-style barrel lockup... I wonder why?

For real-world carry, 9mm +p+ still falls short of even the lightest loadings in .357sig... especially for bullet weights greater than 115gr. But, for economical practicing, 9mm is about 1/2 the price. In terms of the guns, the Sig and M&P are actually of similar value, if in comparable condition... if he is willing to throw in $100 to boot, that's a good deal. You need to consider that the Sig is a much different animal than the M&P, there is the DA/SA trigger, decocker, and external hammer to deal with... But, for all intents and purposes, it will be a bit easier to carry. The Sig is slightly smaller. The Sig, especially in .357, will have more muzzle lift, because the bore sits higher above the grip, but I've never experienced any great loss in shot-to-shot time due to this with my P239. The Sig will likely have slightly better accuracy potential, just because Sigs do. I had an early Sig Pro, an SP2340 in .357... it was a wonderful gun, a tack-driver. But, at the time there was no holster/accessory infrastructure to allow me to carry it, though that is different now. Other things to consider are: - how much do magazines cost? - which one fits your hand better? - would you regret getting rid of your M&P? (unless it really doesn't fit you, you probably will) - how much would he want for his Sig, if he sold it out-right to you? - how much would you take for yours, sold out-right? As much as I like Sigs, I'd be more likely to trade my M&P-9 for an M&P-357, if the caliber is the issue... otherwise, make sure the Sig is really what you want before you commit.

There are some good people on OCDO... I have been looking for them to have one of their meetings in the Bristol area for a while, I'd make the drive. My wife and I try to visit east TN a couple of times a year on weekends anyways.

I'm still waiting for a magnetic induction flashlight which will mount on a pistol rail... it would re-charge under recoil or in the holster as you walk. Perhaps put a crank on the side for extended use when not firing...

- my brain - my cell phone - my gun(s) - my pocket knife - tool kit (flashlight, wrenches, pliers, duct-tape, fuses, etc...) - first aid kit (bandages, aspirin, disinfectant, etc...) - sealed gallon of distilled water - spare tire - gas can (admittedly, not in every vehicle... need to fix that) - a blanket - emergency flares - jumper cables Listing all those makes it seem like there's more that there really is... It certainly isn't a full-on SHTF survival kit. We're still putting together fully equipped bug-out-bags for such occasions, but they wouldn't be likely to stay in any of the vehicles...

I've never been to RR, so I'll defer on that decision to others' opinion... Personally, I usually just stop for a quick sandwich @ Quizno's. I'm open to any & all suggestions. -

I know that I will be there... So, based on the responses, I'd expect to shoot for a 11:30am Saturday (pun intended) arrival at either On-Target or a Resturaunt... The meeting location TBD, but I will definetly be there. I'm only planning to bring whatever I am carrying that day, to shoot, and possibly rent something else to try out, if there's anything new available... All other details are up for dicussion: 1. Solid meeting time (11:30? noon?) 2. Meeting place (Red Robin is fine with me) -
What Marswolf said... Very true. One could just about say that some of the best triggers are the ones which you can't feel break when actually firing the gun. That's the way my Sigs have been, in SA, good 1911s, and the way my XDs have been, once broken-in... On the other hand... I consider Walther P99s to have a decent trigger, but there is a distinct metallic 'ping' felt upon discharge.

I have only heard (via the internet) of a few reliability issues with these pistols... Overall though, most of the limited feedback which I have seen was positive. These gun are not common, I have personally only ever held one once, at a gun-show. My impression was that it handles very similar to a compact polymer Baby-Eagle... It wouldn't be my first choice for sub-compact carry, but I wouldn't write it off all-together. They bear a mild resemblance to the S&W M&P compact, as well... aside from the extra controls.

I know you're pretty far away from me, and I don't know about the ranges in your area... but if you're ever this way you're welcome to try mine. Surely there is a range at least in Nashville which has a rental XD?

Food sounds good to me. It's starting to look like a mid-day Saturday event... Perhaps an early lunch beforehand. In that case, we'll have to decide where to meet. I've never set foot inside Red Robin since it's been open, but I do know where it is. I'm not picky about my food, as long as I can place my order in English... So that would be fine with me.
