  1. Ok even with all the crap going on with us from the relocate to Nashville we took the survey and "plan" to attend so that we can get to know some of the locals with the same interest.
  2. WOW! Today our AC in the house stopped working! One more thing to ad to my "Welcome to Tennessee" list! Called the prop mgr so lets see what happens next! I almost dont want to leave the house! Afraid of what is going to happen next! Yes Vegas was a poor choice of places to raise a child but so far all that we have had to endure almost makes Vegas look good.
  3. Congrats on being NOT on the list! I can confirm #17 we had a 2003 GMC truck stolen back in 2005.
  4. Yeah my 2 front ends of the frame are exposed. From what I have read you must have atleast 3" of "bumper" width to be considered legal.
  5. Yep, long very hard and emotional trip. Lost a family member in Oklahoma. My Oldest boxer passed on. We hit a deer in AR and totaled my bumper. Got to the house the prop manager lost the keys to the house, We scheduled a transfer of electricity and instead the just turned it off so we didnt have any power till later that eve. So yeah getting pulled over was just one more thing to ad to my list of what doesnt kill you only makes you stronger!
  6. Not even in TN a full week and already got pulled over! On our relocation from Vegas last week we hit a deer in Arkansas and it fubar'd the front bumper so much that had to take it off to be able to steer. So I have no front bumper right now. But of course our Big Black Van is not the family wagon looking van its more of a tank meets the war wagon and with our NV lic tag I had a feeling the LEO just wanted to say HI! The officer a very nice and polite young man gave me the one over from the back driver side then proceeded to the passanger where my wife rolled down the window. He said "I is law that you must have a front bumper" I stated to him that just to let you know we are CCW holders from the state of NV and we are both armed. And to my surprize he didnt give it much thought. He was more conceared as to WHY we didnt have a front bumper. I showed him the pic of the damaged bumper that we took after hitting the deer. He said "OK" then took my DL and INS card and called it in. Then a 2nd PD rolled up and just sat behind the other PD car. After getting off the radio he handed my wife back my DL and INS card and said that becuase we had only been here less than a week that he would just give us a warning and then he said "WELCOME TO TENNESSEE". I said thank you and that I was planning on having something on there by the end of next week. So my first encounter with TN LEO went very well!
  7. OS, He asked, I told. Simple as that. Got pulled over for doing 60mph pulling a trailer in Calif its 55mph when pulling trailer. I gave him my registration card for Vegas metro and my CCW cards. He pulled everyone out of the truck asked me to open the safe to show him to make sure there were no "illegal" weapons and gave me the ticket for speeding and warned me for the ammo and made me unload the ammo and sent us on our way. End of story. He really wasnt being a dick other than there were semi trucks passing me and other people pulling trailers that he picked us out of all them. And I guess he just wanted to throw his weight around.
  8. We would go to LA several times a month. I have been pulled over in Calif with my xd sub 9 LOCKED in a safe with the mag locked in another safe inside of that. The HWY Patrol gave me crap and said that I needed to unload my clip and store the ammo in a seperate locked area away from the mag, away from the gun and the ammo had to be out of reach from anyone while they were buckled up! Also if you have a HICAP be prepared to get arrested or at a min get swift verbal warning and confiscation of the clip.. I recommend leave it at home. But best of luck to you on your trip
  9. I feel your pain and wish you and your family the best. Lets just hope that our furry buddys are running around in tall grass chasing tennisballs up there!
  10. First off just wanted to let you know that I am the OP (NV2TN) I tried to log in many many times and it would never let me log in. I also used the "contact" at the bottom of the main page and didnt get anyone so I just created a new log in. Secondly, Thank you all for you kind words. Sadly we had to leave Chopper in Oklahoma to be cremated. He will re join the family some time next week. after littleRock I smacked a deer head on doing about 70mph pulling a 24ft trailer. Our van is higher off the ground and the trailer pitched the front end even higher so lucky for us it only creased the bumper in half right in the middle like as if hit a telephone pole. But saved my grill and lights and custom fenders! We got to our new house in Nashville about Noon. The management lady lost the keys to the house. So by about 5p we got our bed unloaded and in the house and just gave up for the day! But we are finally here 2000k miles later, less one family member and some vehicle damage so we will see what Nashville can dish out to us from here on out!
  11. This is NV2TN. I tried many many many times to log in. I use the same PW for all my forums that I log on to. I could not get any response to using the "contact" at the bottom of the main page. So I created a new account. I hope this is ok. If not please delete NV2TN and I will keep the new one.
