  1. At the 3 block level I have 4 pieces of rebar going from side to side. These hold my expanded metal/metal grate which is framed with angle iron. This is removalable so I can take it out and clean the grate off with a wire brush. The meat goes on the grate and then the top , made out of plywood, goes on the 4th block level. I use a piece of square plywood for the door where I shovel the wood inside. I just prop a brick against the wood door to keep it tight and closed.
  2. Here is my pit and my pile of Red Oak wood. All ready to go !
  3. How do I post a pic here ? I dont want to use the photobucket thing ? Is there a way to post an attachment ?
  4. If it is a natural sweet comming from tomato or apple cider vinegar then I dont mind it , I just dont like it when people add cups and cups of pure sugar to the sauce.
  5. I just got my concrete block/cinder block bbq pit made. I got 3,000 lbs of red oak slabs and I am ready to cook. This is the best thing I have ever made by myself. Anyways , I got to rambling on and on . I am wanting to see what you guys use to baste on your pork every few hours or so while cooking in a pit. Now I am talking old country style pit cooking and NOT grilling on a BBQ grill. I am trying to make a good thin vinegar based sauce/baste that is real thin that I can put on the pork every few hours and can add it with an old small mop head like my grandfather did back in the day. What do you guys use in your own reciptes? I am looking for it to be real vinegary and very thin. Not thick because if it's thick it will burn over time. I'm gonna be cooking for around 12 hrs or so on these pork shoulder. Oh yeah , I dont want it to have any sugar , I hate sugar in BBQ . I
  6. Thanks and keep the opinions comming .
  7. I have a chance to trade my Like new Beretta M9 in excellent condition for a new in box Glock 17 in the new Flat Dark Earth color (tan color) . What would you guys do ? My Beretta is only carried in the winter when I hunt as a back up and as a carry gun when I wear a heavy coat. I like these guns both equally .
  8. Oh I have a holster for it but thanks so much for your kindness!
  9. Just traded my S&W M&P40C for a damn near new G30 from 1997. It was an even trade and even though my gun was 1 yr old and this G30 was 15 yrs old , I think I came out better, at least for me . The barrel shows no "smiley faces" on it . There is still the factory copper grease on the inside of the slide ! The only thing I had to do was use some nail polish remover on it to get the nail polish or paint off of it where the owner painted the model number and the glock insignia and all. The only thing I will do to it is drill a lanyard hole in it tonight. It even came with the original old style box ! How did I do ?
  10. picture mix up
  11. They have layaway ? Wow that is good , or bad to my wallet ! Seriously that is cool. For some guys that cant put down all the money at once , it is nice . I was there 2 weeks ago and they were nice to me .
  12. Tennessee Gun Country in Clarksville. He has a good arrangment of handguns and long guns and reloading supplies. His prices are very good and gives a discount to Police and Military.
  13. They do have good pizza and it is really weird that a Dept store would have that . My brother and me love Sam's pizza . IT is great to eat while waiting on the Tire Dept to put you on some new Tires.
  14. I'm having 8 bud lights right now while doing the Laundry and cleaning house. In about 3 hrs I am gonna cook some Mahi Mahi "Tennessee style" by rolling it in cornmeal and deep frying it !
  15. I too agree with you . I have a 1911 and a Glock. I wholey agree that the Glock is better due to less parts and also the rust resistance. My Glock 34 is the same size as 1911 and holds more tan twice the ammo. On a side note I would have chose an AK47 instead of the AR15 . I just dont like how the AR15 let gas blow through it's action and all.
  16. I am getting ready to make a bbq pit out of concrete block at my home. I was wondering if any of you guys had any good pictures of any ? I am wanting to put the fire pit next to it and make it out of concrete blocks too. I have heard of lots of people just stacking the blocks togather and not using concrete or mortar . This would be a lot easier I think. I want a concrete block BBQ pit and an area where I can burn my hickory slabs and the shovel them in the concrete pit next to the fire pit. Any pctures and ideas are appreiated. I plan the build around april.
  17. I was just about to lay some cash down on a pistol when I noticed some rust. I could get it off but I thought I may just wait and not make a sudden purchase without thinking it over some more. Well I looked around some more and I stumbled across the new Ruger LCR in .22LR . Man I think I will end up getting it over the pistol I went there to get and even over getting the new S.A. XDS . The revolver felt great and the weight is hardly anything at all and it just seems to be a good ole "all around gun" to put in your pocket when you go anywhere. Cheap to shoot and just great . Does anyone here have any information on it or own one ?
  18. I went into Guns And Leather 4 months ago all set to buy a CZ and I saw a Glock 34 in OD . Before I even knew it I was filling out the background check papers. WOW I had never in my life bought a gun that fast on impulse. The cool thing is that I can use that same frame to use in my G17 too .
  19. Thanks for the info . I have bought 3 guns from your store so looks like number 4 is coming up ! I am just trying to get past the ILS thing. I guess it doesnt matter if I just leave it disengaged.
  20. Wow it is nic to hear all the positives about this gun . I always thought they were jam-o-matics . I have no experience with them but I just thought they were an "odd ball" type company and I never gave them one thought. BUt then again , I used to think that of CZ and now CZ is my favorite along with Glock. WOuld you all think Bersa's reliability is up there with CZ ? Not the accuracy (you cant beat CZ's accuracy) but what about the relaibility compared to CZ ?
  21. Does yours have the ILS (key lock) on it ?
  22. How are these as far as reliability and function ? I am looking at the Bersa Thunder 380 CC . The only thing I dont like is the ILS and the Magazine-safety-disconnect. The looks are great and so is the grip. It seems to have the blow-back type of action where the barrel is permanantly connected to the frame like my CZ-83. What do you guys think . Any of you have any experience with them ?
  23. D&T Arms had a CZ P-01 used about 2 weeks ago . They also had a RAMI too.
  24. I have been hunting about 4 days this Muzzle-loader season so far and havent shot anything yet . How about you guys ? Usually I see lots and lots of trucks with deer on in the bed comming back from a hunt. I have only saw about 3 deer in the back of some trucks . Gonna try it tomarrow again , hopefully the high wind we are having will calm down .
  25. I just foundout there is a hunting area on here so I will close this and move it to the hunting area .
