  1. +1 to this. My ridgeback is decently disciplined and doesn't cower when I have enforce the rules, whether by a tap on the neck / butt or the "no no" sound. Only dogs I've ever seen cower were ones who were owned by abusive idiots or who were kept tied up without any contact. That's my guess for this d-bag, he abuses the poor thing to get it to do what he wants and then just ties it out back. Hunting dogs are tools, they can be part of the family, but they shouldn't be slaves.
  2. Herter's 7.62x39 Rifle Ammunition ~60% off at Cabela's Herter's .223 Edit: Seems like all their Herter's ammo is on sale. Free shipping for orders $99 or more through 11/29
  3. I think the squiggle is the boundary between India and Pakistan near Khairpur
  4. TAPCO black 30 rd AK-47 magazine $6.19 at ballistic reload I think I saw people talking about these a while ago, maybe not...SOG EOD Multi-tool for $40.
  5. Haven't used it but you can check this out: the write up, and here is the Link to the program.
  6. Not posted, has a sign that states that concealed and open carry ok as long as you abide by state law.
  7. Unfortunately there is always someone with just enough knowledge and not enough common decency who can do this. This isn't limited to just Android, other phone OS's can be affected too. Only thing you can do is make sure you download from trusted developers / trusted markets. Even if you're using Airpush Detector, Addons detector, Lookout Security, etc you can still be affected. The only possible method of preventing them from doing it accessing and charging you is if you have a rom such as CM7 that allows you edit and remove any and all permissions an app has on your phone. It's hard to uncover the line of code that causes the charges to start, so the Android Market will sometimes get these bad eggs. You have to be careful what you do, even then you get bit in the butt sometimes (like the OP). Android things to think about: Try to stick to apps that have been downloaded and rated a lot. Doesn't always work since these scum can pump their ratings up Don't connect to public wifi to do anything important or log in to anything. A simple man in the middle app on my phone can capture your login, history, etc (Google "Firesheep", "WifiKill", or just sniffing program). And it could allow someone to push malware to your phone. Do you leave your bluetooth on and your device discoverable? I hope not. Uncheck the "Allow Unknown Sources" in your application settings except when using it. Malware can download other apps without you know. In the past I would cringe if someone would ask if they should put security software on their phone, it shouldn't be needed. But it is now. OP, if you have the time and patience, depending on whether you are just running rooted or a custom rom I'd do a factory reset to wipe the /data partition reflash your rom which will format your /system partition, and I'd save the important stuff off your sd card and format that thing. I did see a app that somehow stored info on the sdcard and basically the phone got pinged and sent the data out once a day, but that was a long time ago, Android 1.5 timeframe.
  8. Hey guys want to let you know about my experiance with Defensive Chemicals. About a month and a half ago I ordered a couple units of Freeze+p defensive spray. After 30 days of not receiving the order, I shot them an email and they responded with my tracking info and it turns out the package was "delivered" and it some how disappeared from my door. I contacted Lee the owner again and told the package was lost, but thanks for his help. Amazingly to me he offered to replace my order for free! I declined since it wasn't his fault FedEx or some hooligan ran off with my package, but today I received my package from him anyway. Obviously in this lovely economy today it is not the perfect business model for a small business to to replace lost shipments, so Lee went above and beyond in my opinion. When I get the $$$ I know a few family members who are getting Freeze+p from Lee for Christmas.
  9. +1 for what bkelm18 wrote. I love Frozen Head. I've spoken to one of the rangers there a few times, they know HCP holders are allowed to carry. The TN.gov website FAQS even address this very issue.
  10. All silliness aside from actually open carrying a suppressed pistol, and the fact that he's in KY, is that legal in TN? I didn't see it in the codes anywhere, but I could have missed it.
  11. Dang I should have drove up there today instead of waiting till next weekend. So do you wait for someone to finish shooting for the day or do you rotate out when you're reloading your mags?
  12. Thanks for the info guys! I really appreciate it. Looks like I'm going to try and work my way up to Norris next Saturday and take a look around see how things work. So it's $40 for a year, but is the $20 day pass Murgatroy is talking about for a group or per person?
  13. Hi guys. Before I get thoroughly reamed for not searching prior to posting; just want to go ahead and say that I've been searching for about 3 hours now and had a ton answered, but still have a few questions. Long story short, Uncle Sam's Yacht Club doesn't really teach you about firearms unless they need to, and now I would like to learn how to shoot a rifle. Yes I plan on taking the NRA basic rifle course, but an army buddy of mine has offered to help me learn on an AR-15 with a RDS. Now I have to find a range in the area. Here is some of what I've gained from searching and my questions. John Seveir Range: From what I understand is populated full of people who don't take too kindly to noobs / newbs / nubs / etc. Also I'm not a fan of having to pay another club just to shoot at your range. ORSA: Good range from what I hear, just another one of the I have to join another club to be able to pay to join their range. Takes a while to join because they only review applications once a month. Norris: The cheaply priced not so secret range any more. Closed for hunting in the end of November, closed on Thursday mornings from 7-9. So I'm basically looking heavily at Norris and some at ORSA. I'd like to go on the weekends, but since both of us are students we'd go on the weekdays some as well. I've never been to an outdoor range, and I don't think he's ever been to a public range. Questions 1. If I wanted to go say next Saturday and just look around, observe how things work, and not shoot; would I still l have to pay? Since Norris doesn't have a RSO, I'd especially like to watch and see how the protocol. 2. I get nothing when I google for the Norris range, where is in in Norris? 3. Me and my buddy are not complete idiots, but would one range be better for our application? 4. I've read about the ranges having benches, but if I'm going to learn shooting while standing up and prone do the ranges allow this? 5. What do you attach your targets to at these ranges? Am I supposed to bring my own target stand? 6. Now that the weather is starting to turn, are ranges less busy on the weekends? 7. I probably have a million more, but can't think of them right now. Any and all comments are welcome since I know very little on what is going on. Thanks in advance.
  14. Link / download still free as of this posting. I'll update the OP when I check to see if it's still free, but this is the one and only bump of this thread I'll do just in case someone didn't see it.
  15. Just like the Tapatalk link I posted the other day, I have nothing to do with this site. Just happened to see this as I was browsing Woot. Not sure how much of a "deal" this is since I'm new to the firearms way of life, but it's cheaper than what I paid for mine the other day. Glock 4th Gen Magazines, most calibers and capacities for $20. It's from Botach Tactical Someone commented that if you use coupon code "magpul" for 20% off most Magpul accessories on the site. It worked for them for the Glock magazines as well. I have no clue about the truth to that.
  16. Hey guys, so to get straight to the point you can download Tapatalk for free Here. Some of the other app stores offer a free app a day, Amazon does the same thing for example. I don't know how long this is going to be free, but I figured I'd post this here since I remember reading people wanting to use TGO on their phone and not having Tapatalk. That and I know I hate that terrible Tapatalk ad popping up everytime I load a page on here, I'm sure someone else does as well. It's legit, it's free for now, and it's easy. You'll have to install the GetJar market, but once you download and install Tapatalk you can uninstall GetJar if you don't want it. EDIT: Looks like it isn't for the iPhone, thanks for posting Dolomite and Crimson EDIT 2/29/12: This morning I got an error that said my version of Tapatalk had expired. I don't know if anyone else will get this message, it may be because I mod my phone, I don't really know. But to "fix" the problem I just uninstalled the app and then re-downloaded it from GetJar. Everything works just fine now. EDIT 3/27/12: Tapatalk 2 Beta is out and about. You can download from here
  17. Android is an Operating system that has a steep learning curve to new users. The iPhone is put together so that anyone can use it with ease. You say Droid, so I'm assuming your talking about one of the phones with the Droid branding, not just a phone with the Android OS on it. However if you are generalizing all Android OS phones as Droids, make sure you don't compare a phone like the huawei ascend to the iPhone. It's like comparing a turd to a orange. You get what you pay for, try to get something that has been released in the last year. Both phones will do what you want them to do, let your wife pick the one that she likes the best is my opinion.
  18. Thanks guys. Someone sent me to another forum, apparently USA Arms is a bit shoddy (according to that thread). I actually didn't know about Predator Custom Shop, I'll roam on over there this weekend and see what kind of $$$ I need to save. Thanks again.
  19. Hey guys. This place seems less vicious than the android forums I frequent, but I made sure and searched here as much as possible before starting a new thread. If this is somewhere on here, oops sorry. So I'm pinching my GI bill pennies trying to save up for an AR. I've previously set my desires towards a SPR Mod 1 LE but I saw this ad here on the forum and got linked to USA Ammo and they have their AR-Lite and AR-Operator 50% off. I figure there is a reason for the price reduction, but I don't know enough to about ARs to state why. The navy teaches you how to chip paint not build an AR, so I'm not really comfortable building an AR and I want to buy a complete one the first time. What are your thoughts on these 3 rifles? Get the USA Ammo and eat ramen for a while, or keep pinching my pennies and get a good rifle? Any and all comments are welcome.
