Rhetoric FAIL. Much more gooder. +1 to that. I really don't see what your father has to gain at this point by fanning the flames. Your ex has already (presumably) been questioned in a vandalism investigation, so there's a paper trail. The only people who respect Restraining Orders and Orders of Protection are those that probably shouldn't be under them in the first place. From a pragmatic standpoint, the potential benefits are minimal, and the potential cost is significant--especially if she were to respond in kind against him or you. Just my $0.02.

The DSM-IV TR is actually the most current edition, but hey, I'm splitting hairs here...The first draft of the DSM-V is actually due out sometime later this year, and I'm hoping they've finally got diagnostic criteria for whatever personality/mood/psychotic disorder my on-again-off-again gf has been demonstrating over the last year-and-a-half. Like the OP's gal-pal, she'd be a great case study. Almost wish I hadn't retired my license...

Very nice! Kimber's been running full-page ads for the Crimson Carry in a lot of the gun rags for months, and I always have to stop and drool a little. I've got the 4" Covert myself, but I've always wondered how a 3" 1911 shoots. You'll have to let us know!

Epic fail, TJ. Epic fail...

And I would add that he also (obviously) didn't keep it pointed in a safe direction at all times. You'll get no argument from me that, no matter what actually happened, he is indeed "stuoid".

Unless he only "racked" the slide the 1/8th of an inch necessary for takedown, then pulled the trigger to remove the slide. You know how those non-gun folks (especially reporters) are when they try to use gun folks' vernacular. Although, to hear the wife tell the story, you'd have thought the gun slam-fired.

You did great! The biggest thing with children that age is resisting the urge to minimize the finality of death. Our natural instinct is often to try to soften the blow by saying things like "the bunny has gone to sleep for a really long time." This leads to the notion that death is not permanent, which consequently detracts from the value of life. Thus, by teaching your child to understand and respect the nature of death, you are teaching her to respect life, as well. This is a lesson that will stay with her as she grows and matures, and it is something that is lost on far too many people--both children and adults--these days. Kudos to you.

Holy crap! No joke! Who the hell was that guy? Wonder if he's related to the ".357 Magnum Glock" guy from the TN HCP video? Even us ARFCOM commandos know better than that!

Then why does your apartment still smell like that? Oh, nevermind. I see now...

Funny, she said the same thing about mine, too. Tell her I said 'hi'. God bless badge bunnies...

I've got a .410 Pardner that I absolutely love. $105 brand new at Wal-Mart. Best value for the money in my entire collection. That being said, I would never use a single-shot break-action for HD. There are too many good pump-actions out there for less than $300. ETA: Found the line of Pardner pumps: http://www.hr1871.com/Firearms/Shotguns/pardnerPump.asp They've got a lot more options than they used to. As Garufa has already stated, it would seem to be a pretty good deal.

To the OP, word on the street (and from Smyrna) is that the G17 RTF2 will be released soon, but there are no plans currently to release a G19 or G23. This is purely speculation on my part, but I would wager to guess that will change by the end of the year. Haven't had the pleasure of gripping one yet, but if the rumors are true, I'm hoping that they sell well enough for Glock to expand the line. I have held off on making any plans to stipple my G29, just in case. Oh, and the slide serrations are indeed pointed in the right direction. A tug against the grain forces the skin of the fingers to stretch outward toward the top and bottom of the slide, thus increasing the gripping surface (does that make sense without a diagram?). A pretty clever design if you ask me, even if it ain't all that pretty.

Ouch...

Umm...it matters to me. Good luck if it's the former. Call me if it's the latter. I'll supply my own badge...

I believe she was born in Oak Ridge, but raised in Rockwood. But hey, it's not like I was stalking her or anything. Haha. I mean, I thought everyone knew that. STOP JUDGING ME!!!

Wait...what?! Why am I just now hearing this?! Crap! I need to find something to put a red-dot on--STAT!

I have an Elite CAR A4 that I've tricked out (see avatar). I will say that mine came with a canted front sight, but it didn't matter since I was taking it off anyway. I haven't had the first problem out of that gun, and with regard to fit, finish, accuracy, and trigger, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Okay, somebody's gotta break up the party. I saw the movie over the weekend, and I thought the acting was wooden (from everyone but Clint), and the dialogue was formulaic and sometimes campy. That being said, I enjoyed the hell out of it. I especially liked the theme of active restitution--showing remorse for one's sins by actually DOING something to atone for them.
-
Actually, yes. I'm 6'5", and I have the largest hands (heel to fingertip) of anyone I know. That's a big reason why I didn't mind carrying the G29 with its big, fat grip in the first place. I probably could've gotten away with not putting the inside panel on, but then it wouldn't have been as pretty, either...

I see this thing almost everyday on MySpace, and I crack up every time. Oh, and I like the new profile text, btw...
-
Yep. The rubbery stuff doesn't work as well, and I've got to be able to tame the beast if I want to keep carrying my 10mm for personal defense. My follow-ups in rapid-fire are dead-on now, but it's hell on the flubber and the wardrobe.
-
+1 to that! I've been fighting the urge to have my G29 stippled, as I've put plenty of money into her already. Still, that 10mm is a beast of a round, so the old gal tries real hard to squirm out of my hand--especially in rapid fire. I've been using grip tape to compensate, but it pretty much destroys my back and my shirt when I carry IWB. Seeing the quality work you were able to do is inspiring...

Obama calls for new Declaration of Independence
Seaslug replied to Mark@Sea's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Bingo. The Obama campaign targeted the least-educated and most-disenfranchised segments of the population with a platform that was essentially, "I look like you, and I talk good too!" Frankly, it was a brilliant strategy. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I imagine that there was a sharp increase in both voter registration and turnout within these communities.Make no mistake, if Mr. Obama were not half-black, he would have never made it past the primaries with his resume (or lack thereof). No intelligent person could have rationally concluded that he was the most-qualified candidate to be the leader of the free world. It's an ugly truth, but a truth nonetheless.
