  1. Just an FYI, that's actually a Trijicon red dot, and not a Docter. The Docter's--even though they are more expensive--actually DO NOT have the backup rear sight. The only reason I realized this was because I e-mailed David Bowie (God, I love that name), and he essentially dressed me down for inquiring about putting a Docter on a fighting gun...lol. When I came back to look more closely at the pics, there is indeed a Trijicon logo on the sight (not an owl, which is the Docter logo). Anyway, long story short, the $175 does not include refinishing, but he said most folks do not refinish the slide since the only milled spot is under the sight. He will mill for both Trijicons and J-Points. I am still strongly considering this, although I'd hate to be without my EDC for 16 weeks. Hmmm... Decisions, decisions...
  2. 'Bout damn time...
  3. So, I'm watching a program about the history of the M-16 on History HD last night, and the next thing I know, they're talking to the guys from Predator about AR builds. I got pretty excited about that, but then I realized that they were shooting at Jason's range! You could see him standing in the background in one shot. Did anybody else catch this? I thought it was pretty neat.
  4. Ah, the Nokia G23. Had one for awhile, but every time I'd get a call, I'd shoot myself in the ass...
  5. They're magazines! Not clips!Wait...what?
  6. Looks like it's $175 for the millwork, plus the cost of the optic. Gen. 4 3.5 MOA Docters are apparently going for about $425, if you can find 'em in stock. Geez. Why did I have to open this thread? If I were working like I'm supposed to be, this would've never happened...
  7. Dude, you're killing me! I'm a huge fan of all things red-dot, and I've been kicking around the idea of putting a mini on my G29. My biggest concern was concealment (especially with a mount), but after seeing how nicely that thing sits on the Smith with the milled slide, I'm getting that awful itch. Darn you, David! Darn you to heck! Oh, and exactly how much milling are we talking about here?
  8. A HUGE thank you to BigJ! That was an awesome range, and the most fun I've had yet at a group shoot. Can't wait to do it again!
  9. Welcome from down the street! I'm technically in Karns too, but since I still have a Powell mailing address, I'm claimin' it!
  10. No booths, but lots of small tables. And the seating area is so cramped that there's really no need to push any tables together. There are a couple of larger tables at the one on Merchants.
  11. Time? Carpool?
  12. SHHHHHH!!!! What are you tryin' to do to me, man?! Thank God only you and I can see this! Wait...what? Crap...
  13. Finally got around to snapping a quick pic of mine. Couldn't find any hookers, though. They won't come near my house anymore for some reason...
  14. Clinton Hwy., Emory Rd., Western Ave., and West Town Mall all come to mind...
  15. Yes, but if I have to run behind, surely SOMEBODY could adequately describe the route taken from Shoney's. Unless Jason requires that everyone be blindfolded and loaded into a van with no windows before making the trip. Or, you know, I could just get the address and plug it into my GPS...
  16. I think I might actually be able to make it to this one! Yay! I haven't seen you guys since last August, I think. I may or may not be able to make breakfast though, so if Mike could PM me his cell #, that would be just super. Now, if I could only scrounge together some ammo...
  17. I'm in, and I vote Ruby Tuesday's (doesn't matter which). They've got local roots, and their corporate office has already issued a statement saying they have no intention of posting at any of their restaurants.
  18. No doubt on the NFA thing. I gotsta get me one of those! And I'm still jealous that your Saiga will eat the cheap stuff. Mine's going back in this week...
  19. Yours runs on birdshot? Mine won't cycle the light stuff at all, so just a heads up if you haven't actually tried it yet. I might be able to find the time to head back out to one of the family ranges this weekend, so PM me if you're interested.
  20. Not again, at least...

FYP. And yeah, I love that thing, too. It replaced a Kimber Eclipse Pro II. That gun was a real looker, but it had some reliability issues. Haven't had the first problem out of the Covert, and the MARPAT laser grips are just too frickin' cool!
  22. I've got the same setup on my AR right now, and I'm about to go pick up another for my Saiga-12. You can't beat it for the price.
  23. Bravo! You're an inspiration to the rest of us!
  24. There ya' go, then. I was the senior bouncer with that group for about 6 years, and I still go down there just about every Saturday (and most of the big shows). I'm sure I've seen your group a time or two.Since you're a local, you'll have to get together and shoot with 70below and me sometime.
  25. The girls actually look familiar. You kids ever frequent Tonic/Blue Cat's/Fiction or the Valarium?
