Go to Sears and get an electric one. I've had one for a few years and it gets the job done for the occasional huge branch that falls out of the tree and light trimming.

OP never said anything about hunting. Maybe he's just ready for a bigger gun for shooting in general.
I have no experience whatsoever with 243 but I know WalMart always has ammo for it. If that's all you need to kill TN critters, then that's all the gun you need.
But, if you want to have fun shooting and hunting, get the biggest thing you can carry/shoot and still afford ammo for. I love recoil and actually shoot better with bigger calibers, that's just who I am.

I thought you were talking about Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men. They premier tonight . I can't wait.

Costco, Wal-Mart duel in political arena
old article but it's still why i would use sams
So you would prefer to send your $$ to China? Is that more or less important than Costo being run by a Dem? Sam's = WalMart = send all your money to China and stop buying American.
Knoxville is not fortunate enough to have both options, but I know that my family down in the Big M enjoys both.

What exactly is a "Mack Daddy" ?

I don't think I heard any "local" folk talking on that video.
Of course not, they're all from Ohio, Illinois or Ontario.
Personally, I would be honored if if big-ass bear busted the window out of my car. Man, you could use that story for years.

Zombies require a belt-fed 12 gauge.

A .22 Bolt gun is a great way to start. If your local WalMart sells guns you can get a Savage MK II for $120 or something like that.
With a manually operated gun the kids can learn much more and it is easier to keep an eye on them when shooting. Safer and more educational in general.
With that said, go ahead and plan on a Ruger 10/22 or Marlin 60 in the next couple of years. Then the bigger guns.

That is a mighty fine Mosin rifle gun! Ugliest thing ever created but oh so fun to shoot.
I want another one.
If you man-up and shoot 60-80 rounds in one session, you'll need some support and those slip-on Mary-pads don't cut it. Get a proper Nancy-pad! Replaces the stock buttplate and adds about an inch to the length. Well worth it, and no one knows you're cheating.
The Nancy-Pad:
MOSIN NAGAT M44 RUBBER RECOIL BUTT PAD
(often available at gun shows)

Hammer, thanks for the excellent posts! You're gonna get me in trouble with the bank, wife, etc.
I need another Smith.

Man-up and use a curling stone. 38-44 pounds of Granite.

I've been waiting for my Obama check since January. Haven't seen a nickle of it.

I always take these type of encounters optimistically... since 50% of the population is below average, it cheers me up to realize that's not my crowd.
Hah, you're an optimist!

I really want to say something profound but words escape me.
If you want to celebrate the Swayze get a copy of Road House, but it's usually on cable about 98 times a year.

Everyone is racist.

Point spreads are meaningless in the SEC. You never know what will happen.
I'll still be in front of the tube praying the Vols open up a can and win. Not expecting it, but if it happens then it will be a great day!

Welcome!
You are my new hero. That Registered Magnum is, well, the Holy Grail of Smiths! I'm going to stop now before I get too emotional.
Do you have the papers for it?

Wonder if the Pawn Shop Ninja also knows about the old shoving a pencil down a revolver barrel trick to prevent it from firing?
Keep it or sell/trade?

Is that a Finnish M91?
Keep it and enjoy it or sell it.
Don't sporterize it! This isn't one of those dime-a-dozen M91/30's.
