  1. High round count single stack field courses would be a blast. Im way out of practice but some guy Jason beats me on my good days anyway...
  2. I was going to say gray alumagrips I like them but voted VZ slims they look good on that gun in pic.
  3. After shooting USPSA and IDPA I lost all interest in going to traditional range. You don't have to be good at all everyone was new at one time, just be safe and have fun!
  4. Current 9mm load is 4.0grns vv320 (4.3grns vv330), OAL 1.15, mag primers, Montana Gold 124grn RN. This same load would not cycle my friends stock 92 but I used it in Taurus and Beretta with lighter spring. PF 128, 1036fps avg. Current 40 load is 5.1grns vv320, OAL 1.2, mag primers, Montana Gold 180grn JHP. PF 174 @ 968fps avg My Vihtavuori load book shows approximate burn rate for Winchester 231 about 1/3 between vv320 and vv330. 3.5 to 4grns of 231 with a stock weight spring sounds like the slide may not cycle all the way to fully eject spent case, would be pretty light load. Run a few through a chrony if you can, hope that info helps some.
  5. I have been loading my 40,9mm and super with win. magnum primers for all. I have used Vihtavuori vv350,340,330 and now vv320. My 9mm loads are loaded little long but current load is 4.1grns of vv320 and win mag primers. I read about and ran into faster burning light loads recoil impulse being to short to fully cycle the slide on some guns. All of the guns I load for are running lighter springs then stock. I ran #11 on my Taurus 92, Beretta Elite2 and CZ sp-01. #14 in my SV(40cal) 2011 and #12.5 in my super single stack(minor PF). In short if you don't have damage may be short stroking the slide. What gun and spring weight are you running.
  6. Mitch Rosen 5JR-PRES is my favorite style. I like the offset for keeping grip tucked to body.
  7. Last I checked on my trijicon's you could send the slide only back to them and they would put new inserts in and return ship for $85 bucks (this was few months ago). If that helps easy and pretty cheap. Turn around was said to be quick.
  8. The most I have seen in person at matchs have been STI's. The big problem with 1911 9mm's was magazines. Since Tripp, Wilson and Springfield started making true 9mm magazines reliability has improved a lot.

    Ruger .22 Mark II

I put one back together for a friend of mine, easier after the first time it comes apart. I never took mine apart and never will. Another friend of mine Rich has had his since high school long long ago early 80's and has never taken it apart. Has thousand and thousands of rounds fired and keeps on going.
  10. The Shooters Connection bags are great! and last forever. Big plus the strap goes through bag so you can use it loaded down with out ripping connection area out.
  11. I leave guns chamber loaded. Not in holster. Do not like to load same rounds over and over, if you do watch for bullet set back. Bullet getting pushed back into case is going to increase charge. I noticed this on the factory 357sig rounds the most and couple 380acp rounds. My 9mm,40 and supers seem better.
  12. OMG and I work with a few like that. One waited with company car cause she could not lock it with out electronic remote untill I showed up and hit the "lock" button and closed the door! I agree with above post, its sad and scary.
  13. Well when I was shooting couple years ago. 3 times a week 15 minutes, but used to shoot 2-3 matches a month also.
  14. Welcome. I drive right by you on the way to see my Dad in Waupaca. I have shot USPSA couple times in Appleton.
  15. Jumbo Sports in Nashville did just that I was working behind gun counter in 1998. We would get in guns years later that still had preban mags in box. They did that some or put two clinton mags in and took out both standard capacity mags. It was sad
  16. Really humm I have had 6 holsters and a belt from Josh but it has been a while since I have had him do any thing. Hate to hear his CS has gone down hill. Last holster was Mitch Rosen cause I like the OWB's that are off set for comfort.
  17. Very nice. Its a shame to have these works of art always hiding. I have mostly Bulman gunleather and looks great under my shirt doh!
  18. I hate them..the up side they are one of the things I hate that I am allowed to shoot!

    Glock slide lock

I had my Taurus 92 for 6 years and locked back fine then one day stopped. Seems between shooting 1911's and time my grip changed just enough to cause 92 style, Glock and Sigs not to lock on last round. Which really sucked when I tried IDPA and had to rack slide everytime I ran dry.
  20. Have tried OWB and ankle for motorcycle. Prefer OWB for EDC but ankle for the motorcycle is very convenient. Same access to it all day while riding etc. Took long time for my LEO friend to talk me into an ankle holster but it works.
  21. Like the others said 19. If you can try the 2 sizes see what you like that helps. Will add that what see a lot with 26/27's people add finger ext or +1 +2 pads and make the grip as long as the 19. Why not just buy the 19 etc. Know lots of LEO's that bought back up 27's for there G22 duty guns and they all have the extended pads for there last finger. If your looking for ankle gun get 26 you can add grip sleeve and run 19 mags or 17 mags in it.
  22. Well I already have a Walther PPKs in 380 but a smaller sig 380 would be aweful cool for $400 bucks but that seems like a good price not many sigs are $400.

    Glock slide lock

With Glocks and few other guns I hold my thumbs on or over the slide release over riding it from locking open on last round. Maybe this is happing to you also. 1911 and CZ type seem to be the only ones I don't do this on.
  24. I have the exact gun you have. Like others have said I load with hammer half cocked and safty on. Only used Federal Classic ammo and have not had any issues. Only ran about 30 rounds through it thou and never dry fire it.
  25. How is doing the video and uploading it. Wow they are getting a lot better!
