    New Race Gun

For production I tried a few and finally the CZ. I didn't believe it but feels more like 1911's I usually shoot and just worked. I have used sp-01 and 85combat. As for 1911 well there are so many choices buy stock or have someone you like build one. For me a limited shooter reloading every 10 got old fast I don't know if I could handle every 8 LOL but I do like the 1911 trigger.
  3. STI. If your going to have one built anyone can build it in 40 also if they want. I have seen several of the STI Trojon 1911's in USPSA matchs.
  4. The Sig easy. Feels much better in my hand then the ruger.
  5. For my Nowlin 38 super single stack idpa/carry gun and my SV 40 uspsa gun. Clean them every 4-6 matchs or 1000 rounds or so. After shooting wipe off outside, feed ramp and add little oil to rails and barrel shoot and repeat. When I do take down and clean may wipe out chamber, never clean barrel. Usually shoot jacketed rounds. MY idpa load for 38 super 124grn Montana Gold RN 1.250 OAL vv320, 4.5grns, 130 PF
  6. The 1911 is still one of the thinner real guns to carry and it comes in all calibers. Put a set of slim grips on it. STI guns makes a couple compact officer size guns the Guardian 3.9inch slide 9mm/45, Escort 9mm/45 and the Rogue 9mm. The Rogue is an officer size with slide thinned a little. Officer grip is going to down your round count a little. I like a commander with no extended mag well, single safety lever and slim grips. For staying i full size gun calibers. Really not a lot of choices for over all slim guns except some pocket guns.
  7. Thats great. Sadly the waiter was probably didn't understand the message.
  8. Yep. Just shipped some spent brass and waiting on some. I have done it for years private and business. Long as there is no live primers or gun powder no worries.
  9. Jeff has done good bit to my carry and match guns over the years and does great work. The 45 degree cuts on the back of my wide paddle safety for my SV is perfect for people with longer skinny fingers, I get it on all my 1911's now.
  10. I should have shot single stack but less competition in production. You, Lee and Mark beat up on my enough in the past. Did you notice the stages kinda sucked you in to go faster then you should have or was it just me. Bobby Thompson
  11. www.shootersconnection.com is the same as some other good sources for a belt but they are in KY usually get it next day, shipping is reasonable and no tax. They are great no BS people to deal with. They have CR speed $59, DA $55 and Safariland. You can watch for a used one but they don't get to cheap either. They last forever thou, I still use first one I got in 96.
  12. OMG thats great, hard to beleive its really on the web page but hey we all got a big laugh out of it at work. Next USPSA and IDPA match I will have to try it out!
  13. I know Got Dot has short barrel ammo. The 45acp is tested out of a 4" barrel says the spec sheet, 230grn.
  14. Last I worked behind a gun counter and talked to ATF guys it was not but thats been a few years. Thou the under 16" barrel is a class 3 item/LE only thing.
  15. I am thinking of doing the same with my Nowlin super runs great and like super is my favorite round. Brass prices are high, I can buy lots of 9mm brass for what super cost. Im getting too old to look too hard for super brass LOL. Probably get Jeff Walley to rebarrel my super for 9mm.
  16. Try each color and how much you melt on the ends for dot size. Our club used more green/green like colors then red so I used red. The green seemed brighter to me. I made dot smaller pretty quick it would bloom on bright days and I lost the edges of front sight on long or tighter shots.

    need a new 1911

I don't know what price range your looking at. STI guns makes a lot of commander size guns most with carbon steel frames. Para-ordnance makes a single action and LDA.

    Hk416 test

M4's work but seems the cooler running bolt-hot gas dumping into the receiver is a good idea all around. Easy barrel change no gas porting issue, flared mag well, free float forearm ...I want one too! To me its just an AR with couple of improvments, good ones. I read some where on internet they were going to import some for general public 16" of course in the end of 2008?
  19. +1 rubber Blue guns wood Silver guns black
  20. Uselton's OMG, my good friend worked there for a year or so. I could not believe some of the dumb things Rick did, how he is still in business I do not know?
  21. Its funny you go to different USPSA clubs and they have different "popular" divisions. Memphis seems to have a lot of open guns. NTPS in Dixion has a lot of Limited guns (2011/1911). Friend from out of state says Production took over and most the club shoots it now. I would think IDPA is the same way, mostly cdp-1911 or ssp-glocks etc.
  22. Little thread drift. When I send handguns through mail I take whole top end off and send it direct to buyer/gunsmith and send frame seperate. If ups/fedx gun grabers steal it at least they didn't get whole gun.
  23. 380 and 38 mostly I prefer a 9mm but currently don't have one. Been watching here mostly for a 9mm replacement.
  24. Over the years I have sent guns back to Taurus 3 times. One twice I shot the heck out of and one I got in trade. They fixed them both up for me. Refinished the PT92 I bought new after the repairs. I didn't have any problems with them but they were slow. About 2 months and its hard to get some one to tell you whats going on some times? I sent them an email of web page I think, can't hurt to check.
