  1. Todd Jarrett was the only Triple Crown winner in USPSA. Doesn't look to well planned, he should have had some gloves lol. Don't reed any gun mags if you think this is a waste of ammo, they do torture test far beyond a 1000 rounds. I hear Air Marshalls in the last week of training go through 5000 rounds each in 357sig. The good stuff too not ball range ammo. Who pays for that ah ya us. That was a while ago training changes all the time.
  2. 115 or 124's either is ideal. I use 124's in competition and usually carry 115+p but have carried and tested both in my guns. I load up the gun as it would be and go to my test area and run it dry reload and do it again for my carry ammo and good enough. Of course my carry guns have been shot with range ammo and comp ammo before this to have confidence in them. It is pricey but piece of mind usually is. 147's were sub gun ammo that the FBI saw Navy Seals using and thought it must be the holy grail of 9mm, but that was purpose built for suppressed MP5's. It didn't transfer to 4inch handguns so well. So I heard years ago when 147's were the new thing.
  3. With the high cost of shipping guns I have to remember to factor that in. Which usually kills most work for me or I just take it to Jeff at Guns and Leather if I can't do it my self. The labor for Jeff to use the right tools is usually less then shipping for sights I have had done.
  4. The Shooters Connection bag is great. I have had mine since 96, its faded pretty good. Get a color you like they last a long time.
  5. The bottom line on a G19 and G19c the difference is very little in recoil recovery, the G19 is more versatile. One concern, is you have to be aware of the gas ports hurting someone you don't want to in close quarters combat. The big negative is you can't use it in USPSA or IDPA (with the exception of shooting open class USPSA) and maybe not allowed in some other shooting games either.
  6. He sounds more like some one who should not be carrying a firearm. I all ways have my glass breaker, I figure the many sharp edges on my PPKS will break a window and I can all ways shoot it also!
  7. Media is all anti-gun. Some more then others but even the good are anti-gun just look better cause the bad are really bad. Like the Tennessean paper, they are very anti-gun if you have ever dealt with them you would be shocked. Media reports what they think (not fact) and only if it gets ratings. Hence "Guns in Bars" on every station and in every paper.
  8. If you have already gone through the drawer full of holsters figuring out what you like then its a lot easier to spend more money on a nice fitting holster. If your still working on the right holster for you try the For Sale on forums and save on hardly used holsters often for much less then new. Once you know you can still watch for ones you like to pop up and grab them on forums. I like Mitch Rosen express line holtsers for price and fit.
  9. Over the years I hear these reports of guns blowing up and being sent to testing. Never hear a follow up saying anything about it again...odd?
  10. Warren Tactical-Dave Sevigny sights. They work great and low price made for Glocks.
  11. Thought you were thinking of a 6" limited but its been a while so I get confused. If you shoot 6" think you need 165's to get the right feel. If I were getting new gun like you...I would get a short-wide frame sight tracker type. If the weather holds decent at all Remo and I both were planning on shooting...but what are the odds of us both showing up LOL. I will be playing Limited 1st gun this time, it sounds like fun match. With my same old boring gun...one day I will have purtty guns like you!
  12. You know I thought it looked like an ipsc shooters carry gun. Then I saw it was you Tim I should have known. So did this replace the 6" limited gun?
  13. Well I was hanging on to my like of the 9mm round untill I saw your excellent presentation of there random packing compared to others. The organization alone of the 40 rounds has me sold....being a bit OCD I don't know how I didn't see this before!
  14. Depending what mags etc. had with it 2k is not a bad price. You can check out Dawson Precision and see what gun runs new. Mags are a big thing I have about $100 in each of my 7 mags so this is a big help to know. Round count and any mods to gun will change your group of shooters that are interested. New plain STI mags are $60 each and tuned pretty mags go up to $150 each. You can check out Brian Enos's Forums... Maku mozo! (Powered by Invision Power Board) to get a better idea its a big USPSA shooter site. Depending what all was included and more info on gun history I or someone I know may be interested. Hope that helps some
  15. I and many at NTPS ran 147's in minor PF in the beginning but all went to 124grn. They return point of aim better and just time out better on stages for me. My full size guns cycle better with them. I run 11 pound springs in CZ and Beretta. 12.5 pound ISMI in my 5" 1911.
  16. Are you looking for match IDPA or USPSA ammo by chance. Atlanta Arms would be the closest source for loaded rounds for matchs. I think it runs 130pf in Beretta Elite.
  17. Speed of sound in fps is little over 1100, we were just talking about this yesterday at work. I have never seen any rated high enough to not be sub-sonic, think the case pressure would be too high. 1200fps is cranking for 147grn, 176pf. Wonder if they are testing on 5" barrel or what? One of the tactical model glocks etc have 5" or little over barrel would have more speed.

    "Assault Rifle"

You hit the nail on the head. Every post I see with "assault rifle" or "high cap" mags I cringe. And I would like to add the above aslo works for "high caps" this is an anti-gun term please don't use it. Unless your Beretta 92 hold 20 round and sticks out the bottom of the gun, its not high capacity. You have standard mags as they were before the ban, reduced capacity (clinton 10 rounders) and high capacity holding more then the standard flush magazines. Sorry if this is thread drifting. I work at a TV station and they love to use these terms cause they sound better, so at least the people that know can use the correct terms.
  19. A day ride on a week end Im off would be cool, meet some other shooters. My old R1 just commutes to work now, I was thinking of getting the milk crate to tie on back!
  20. NTPS a USPSA club and MCTS a IDPA club are both great and have ranges in Dickson. Not too far from Clarksville and good bunch of people at both clubs. You can shoot 3 weekends a month I think.

    rossi 357 mag

I have had a 971VRC for years and have been very pleased for the money it has been great. Has a very good trigger better then 2 of the 3 smith's I had. Sold plenty at store worked at and ones we had 98-99 were consistantly solid guns and priced pretty nice. Thats when I bought mine.
  22. Like glockster157 said, I ran into this once on my Dillion 550. The powder charging station has loosened up and was not belling the case enough. Also had the shell plate loosen up and brass was tilting at some stations causing me to crush brass at charging station, wrinkle at bullet seating.
  23. I carry in the same place/style riding or not. I wear riding jacket all the time so still covered. Once I had a lady point out at a stop light my full size Taurus 92 barrel was showing about an inch below jacket. She said "your gun is showing" I said "Yes I know" LOL
  24. I have had 2 weeks and little over a month from what I read its hit or miss on time. Guess I have been pretty lucky. The 2 weeks time I talked to the Shop Manager, he is a IPSC shooter too I think it helped my time!
  25. I do not run any thing through the barrel for cleaning. If I run some lead I let the jacketed rounds clean it out for me, I usually shoot Montana Gold bullets. The Bar-sto in my SV 40cal 2011 had 7000+, the old gun 11000. They looked great only cleaning was wipe the old off with a dry rag. Now if I could only shoot like Tim with it, I would be dangerous!!
