  1. The deciding factor, in that kind of situation, is will you be able to convince an officer, district attorney or a jury that you were in fear of being seriously injured or killed. Drawing down on someone with your firearm is a serious matter that can cause major headaches is you can't prove it was warranted.
  2. I use a Shepard Leather Conceal carry MIni. Very similar to a Crossbreed. With my Glock 26, I often forget I'm carrying. I haven't had any issues with Kydex and finish wear.
  3. I carry a Glock 26 in a Shepards mini-tuck IWB hoster at about 4:00/4:30. Once I got a good belt, I found it rides very comfortably and prints very little.
  4. Sad but true. LOL!! I'm not too worried about it showing much. That little G26 w/ the Shepard's holster prints very little. Even if it did, I'm legal so I'm not really concerned. It is nice that it's getting cooler. A good OWB holster and a jacket will be a nice pairing.
  5. I'll do that tomorrow. I typically try to avoid Walmart, if possible.
  6. A little different feeling. I did find myself looking for the gun buster signs but I'd already scoped out most of the places I frequent so I wasn't looking too hard, except at Red Lobster over in Providence. Didn't see anything posted as I walked in the door. I wasn't as squirrely as I thought I'd be about my pistol staying concelled. Almost forgot I was wearing it at one point.
  7. Well, it took 26 days for my permit to arrive but it finally showed up in the mail shortly after lunch today. So, this afternoon, I put on my Shepard IWB holster, loaded up the G26 and headed out the door to run some afternoon errands. My wife and I went shopping at Krogers, took a walk thru Big Lots and finished up the afternoon with dinner at Red Lobster. I only had one brief moment at Red Lobster where I felt I needed to adjust my shirt to be assured things weren't showing. Other than that, it felt just about like any other afternoon out....only with a little better feeling of security.
  8. Just recieved my permit in the mail this afternoon. I went to the DMV and got finger printed on the same day. It took 26 days for my permit to arrive.
  9. Congrats on completeing the class. When I took it, we shot 3, 7, 10 and 15 yards. 48 rounds total. Judging by some of the targets I saw afterwards, 25 yards would not have been good for some folks.
  10. I don't change a thing, 9mm Federal HST 124 gr. +P year round. If it doesn't expand, it'll act like a FMJ, penetration wise. From the different ballistic tests I've seen with the HST, I don't feel winter clothing will cause much of a problelm with expansion and penetration.
  11. I know and I agree. A few of the auctions are already hitting the high $500's mark. Curious to see what they top out at.
  12. Several PMR-30's for sale on GunBroker but the prices are nuts. It's a nice little pistol but not that nice.
  13. The Armory over in Lebanon typically stocks the hornady CD ammo. I"ve got the CM9 and run the Rem Golden Sabers through it for defense purposes. Haven't had a single feed issue. The Speer Gold Dots feed nicely as well but they're harder to find locally.
  14. Was in church last Sunday and noticed an unusual waistline bulge on a guy one row up during praise and worship. We started talking after service and, yep, he was carrying. First one I've ever spotted. Of course, I don't really go around looking. I've typically got more pressing issues on my mind
  15. I researched the DB9 a while back. Ended up purchasing a Kahr CM9 instead. With the DB9, it seemed folks either got one that worked really well or one that didn't. The ratio of bad to good reports caused me too much concern to take the risk on the DB9. It's definately a compact little sucker. With it's size and weight, it should make a great little pocket carry piece. Just wish it had a better overall history.
  16. I completed the safety class today. Going down to the DMV on Monday to get things rolling. We'll see how long it takes. Hopefully, not too long.
  17. Too funny, the get away vehicle was making tracks before everyone made it inside. Go granny!!
