I have a G22 RTF . I had previously sanded down the RTF since it was very abrasive . It worked just fine and dandy and is the best feeling Glock grip I ever felt . Well last night I got bored and decided to chop my G22 down to the grip size of a G27 . It worked great . Some people may ask "why" , well I say "just because I wanted to" . I went slow and cut with a Dremel and some sandpaper and an "exacto-knife" . I think thats what you call it . Everthing went fine until I drove the exacto-knife through my finger and up under my skin along the tendon:rolleyes: The tendon is fine but it nicked it and cut the crap out of my finger I got some stitches . I guess I should have went even slower . I used my G27 frame as a model to go by . Here are the pics in order of what "happened" and my progression .

Graycrait is the MAN when it comes to Glock grip mods . I am thinking of doing this to my G22 also but havent got the nerve just yet .

I had a P07 Duty in 9mm back around 2 yrs ago . I went against my own judgement and bought a new product right when it came out . Now I am a big CZ fan and always will be , but I just dont think they have gotten things right in the polymer-gun department like Glock and such . Here is what happened with my new P07 : I bought it new and shot around 150 rds through it . The trigger was only resetting every other time . The guide rod was being "eaten up" by the slide and/or something else . And the magazines would not eject freely no matter if they were full or empty . I sent it back to CZ and they sent me a whole new pistol . Great service , but I couldnt trust it . I traded it in on a new Springfield-Armory XD-9 . Like I said , I love CZ and have a 75B and a P01 as a carry gun , but I am gonna wait till around 2 more yrs to try the CZ polymer pistols .

Yeah thats about what I was thinking too .

DO THIS : To see the trailer when backing up , buy 2 plain ole PVC pipes from Lowes and cut them to the height you want them . Attach them to the trailer by some heavy duty zip-ties . Then paint the tops of them orange . Thats what I did on my Trailer. I also cross my trailer chains too like the one guy said . If the trailer comes loose , it will rest on the chains and not dig into the ground causing a disaster . If you have a Automatic transmission , get a Transmission cooler . Easy to put on and they will save your transmission a 100 times over ! I am a part-time/hobby mechanic and the transmission coolers are a must to me . Even if not towing , they will keep your trans fluid temp down and prolong the life of the Transmission . Go to Autozone , get a mid-size one for around $65 and some Transmission rubber hose about 5 ft and you are good to go .

man , I was always interested in this gun , but after watching that I am really interested in it . If it is as good as the test guns , KEL-Tec better watch out !

Tn Gun Country in Clarksville Guns And Leather in Greenbier and in Hendersonville both have great selections and great prices

My brother had great luck and great function out of it . But like I said , the only negative thing was that S&W made the slide from Zinc . He never had a failure at all .
-
My brother had one . He drpped it on a concrete floor and the slide chipped . It is made of zinc . I'd sell it and get something more durable . Zinc is too soft to be used on a gun .

I'd go with springfield armory . I have had great luck with my plain jane mill-spec . And you'll still have money left over
-
Who here has one and what are the pros and cons ? I know one of the cons are its crazy price . Supposedly it was built/designed on the 9mm cartridge and not the .45 which makes it more reliable than a 1911 "converted to 9mm" . So tell me the good and the bad .

I say its worth the drive to Joe Lyle in Clarksville Tn . He is the best . I have had all my windows done by him . He has a great warranty ! he is also LEGAL! TCA code says that you have to have it at the most 35% . He will not do more than that which is good . The other guys that do this will go more darker but are not obeying Tennessee law . Joe Lyle is the BEST! awesome quality .

I have never eaten Elephant , or Rhino . I have eaten Buffalo . I hope you are hunting for meat and not sport . I eat all that I shoot/hunt . I would use a Marlin lever action 45/70govt

We need a side by side demension measurements and pics of the Wolf Conversion barrel and the G19 barrel . This is an interesting thread I have always wondered about it too .

I just got mine done . It may not look good because the sanding leaves it a little grayish , but it is the best feeling Glock I have ever felt . I have the smoothness of a Gen 1 with the finger grooves of a Gen 3 . I used 320 grit sandpaper on it . I love its feel . Like I said , it may not look good , but it sure feels great ! This gun is purely function over fashion . It is gonna be my "work horse" gun .

I think Tn Gun Country and Guns And Leather .
-
No , I got this on a trades so I couldnt be picky , I wanted a G22 but if I sand this down some , it may turn out better than a regular Gen 3 . I do like the "fish gill" serrations on the slide , they are definitley cool looking and functional .
-
Anyone got any pictures of this ? I will post pics when I do the sanding . I was gonna do it today but had to put in an AC blower motor and duct work on my wifes car and watch 2 crazy kids and a wild jack-a-lab all at the same time .

Thanks Graycrait and all !

AHHH and the great ole mighty Graycrait appears !!! ha ha ha I think I'll try the 600 grain sandpaper . So far that is what most have done . I was thinking of doing it too but just wanted a little reassurance . I am gonna keep this dude so I am not worried about resale value . I kinda even thought about doing a grip-reduction to make the grip like a G23 , but I think I'll stick with the first modification I had set in mind .
-
Graycrait , you outta know about this . You are the Glock modification man !

I saw a thread on here or somewhere about someone sanding/smoothing down the RTF Glocks so that the grip wasnt so aggressive . It looked nice and made it alot smoother . Does anyone know or seen that thread ? I ask because I just scored a G22 RTF with gills . I got it on a trade for my XD-9 . I am happy!!! Anyone know what I am talking about on the sanding/smoothing thing ?

I have been shot and sprayed . I would rather be shot with the taser . The spray lasts bout 25 minutes and sucks ass . The taser is a walk in the ball park. Most people dont know it but the Taser is a whole lot easier to handle than if you put your hand on a Briggs and Stratton engine's spark plug wire . Now THAT is a shock!!!! Next time you are mowing the grass , reach down and touch the spark plug wire . It is a whole lot WORSE than a taser , at least to me .
