  1. would like to ask more, are any of the ML's at wally world worth a darn for deer, my son and I are thinking of one of those or one of the one's in a pawn shop. Now mind you we just moved here not long ago and this will be our first hunt together as well, I never took the opportunity while stationed at Ft Carson many years ago, and we always lived in one of the concrete jungles and it is on my bucket list. So any other feed back we can get would be great. Thanks and don't mean to hijack a thread. Ron
  2. I was also thinking along the lines if you stepped out to walk the dog and didn't have your wallet with you ifen they could l0ok ya up and see that you have one and not get to excited over the whole thing, but then were dealing with the personality of the leo that is doun the checken that counts.
  3. My wife and I were both approved for our permits and are waiting for there arrival, but have a question of a situation that could potentially come up for anyone. So here goes, every morning a ccw person gets up puts on their holster and weapon and is hanging around the house and has to run out the door, in my wife's case a bra holster, but forgets her wallet with her permit in it and gets pulled over, and the officer asks if she has any weapons with her, or me depending on the reverse if I were to not have my wallet with me. Would there be a citation that could be later taken care of or would a person loose their ccw permit? Thanks in advance for all the responses Ron
  4. the saga has ended, with the state coming to their senses and issuing my permit, it should be here in a few days. Thanks for all the replys

  9. They were done electronically at a security firm here in Clarksville, so I guess I will have to look in to getting them done again.
  10. If anyone read the other post, I have turned in my paperwork from an old case in Kali, but I have discovered by looking at the website that my fingerprints were rejected anyone have any info what my be up with that? I do plan on going back to the DMV in the morning, but don't know if that will do any good. Any help from anyone would be helpful. thanks Ron
  11. another twist in the saga in the attempt to get my permit. I sent in the paperwork that the state wanted however when I checked the website today, it indicated that my finger prints were rejected, so I need to find out what is up with that, maybe someone here has some input on that. thanks Ron
  12. I have to ask the dumb question, here goes I might have but don't think I read the price and most likely I cant afford to anyway but would like to know how many pennies I would have to save. Ron
  13. Well got all my paperwork from Kali and sent that in now back to the waiting game and see what the outcome will be, hopefully it wont take long and I can get my CCW. ron
  14. I contacted the Kali court today and will be sending the money for what is needed to satisfy Tn an that should clear things up.
  15. Tennessee, is giving me the opportunity to obtain paperwork from Cali, to show the disposition of the case. I am going to be doing that, so I guess that it could be said that they are giving me the opportunity to still get the permit. One saving grace is that my wife and I took the class together and passed, so we will be applying for her permit, once I get a final decision on my case I will then determine how to go forward with carrying or not. As my wife and are just talking we wouldn't want to be on the short end of a deal in the event of some unforeseen circumstance, especially if it involved our grandchildren if it were to occur while they were with us. Thanks for all of your honest opinions, and hopefully there will more still to come.
  16. I new in advance that no one would admit that they do without a permit,  but as hammer swinger indicated to some the fees and intrusion in to some ones life seems to be going a little over board with the government these days.  As an example having been a Viet Nam era Vet, a former union worker and democrat I never thought I would change my thoughts or beliefs, but due to the current administration I have changed a lot of my thinking and will be changing my party affiliation.  Now being that I am gong to be turning 60 in August I never had any problems in my life until 6 years ago when my youngest son and his wife were sponging off of my wife and I that I had to ask them to leave our home.  No mind you this all took place in California, we have since moved here and just recently, but when I asked my son to leave things got a bit ugly and I was arrested for obstructing a police officer which is a misdemeanor in the state of California.  the state of Tennessee has denied my request for a permit because of that.  Now as I mentioned I am turning 60 soon and had to retire early due to a bad back and a bad ticker.  I am going to send the proper forms off to Cali to ask that the court now dismiss the case, but should they decide not to I am SOL, and keep pondering the what if.
  17. thinking to myself and was wondering if a lot of people will do, wither because they don't want to go through the trouble of getting the permit, or they don't want the state, feds etc to know all their business?  The bad guys do and don't care but I was wondering how many good guys do because of the above reasons, or some other reason, and what the consequences are.    Ron
  18. Thanks for all the info, we should have no problem from what I have read and checked, we will have our cali license, lease, and birth certs, so that should suffice.  We will also be hauling all our stuff and plan on stopping along the way to check for ammo and mags, so time will tell what we will come up with.
  19. 1st question here after new member intro,  Hope that someone can tell me how long it will take to get our DL's once we turn in our California DL's at the DMV office.  Here in Cali we get a temp right away then it takes about 2 weeks to get the permanent one, and being the we will be new to the area we are not sure what the procedure will be once we get to the Clarksville area.  We are anxious to know as we want to be able to replace some of our Cali mags for the regular high capacity before any ban takes place.   thanks   Ron
  20. I look forward to leaving Kalifornia behind once we hit the road, will look forwad to posting pics of stuff we make once settled.
  21. Ron here, looking forward to moving to the Clarksville area after recently retiring and living in California all my life.  Looking forward to welding, hunting, and shooting out in the area there.  It will be a huge move after living in Cali all my life with the exception of the 3 years spent at Ft Carson back in the 70's.  I understand there are some great areas for hunting there as well as some large farmers markets where I can sell some of the windchimes, and wine racks and other nicknacks.   Ron
