  1. Since I stopped carrying my G19 a couple years ago, I felt comfortable messing around with the innards. After going through 3 different brand connectors, I went "Full Haley" and installed the Skimmer: http://shop.glocktriggers.com/The-SKIMMER-Enhanced-Carry-Trigger-System-GT-13.htm While it's not even close to being like my 1911 (as advertised), it is definitely the best feeling trigger I've felt in my Glock right out of the package. No break-in or polishing needed.
  2.   I've been wondering that too.  McD's would be the lowest of low hanging fruit and would quickly fall like Micheal Jordan's baseball career.  Unlike Chipotle and Target, they've actually had the lion's share of armed robberies over the years.  And if Bloomberg is right, a gun-buster sign or 20 will stop that in short order.
  3.   I agree.  Walmart would be their biggest victory ever because it would likely lead to them no longer selling firearms and ammo.  I'm betting they're saving them for last.  That way they can shame them by giving the MSM a huge list of Walmart's competitor's who "care about the kids" and force WallyWorld's hand.  Walmart's numbers are down just like the rest of the retail industry, so it might not take much prodding to do this.    All it'll take is one iPhone pic of OCT strolling through a Walmart with their Bushmasters and the Mom's Demand. . . I mean Everytown For. . . or whatever the heck they'll be called then will snap into action to save us from dudes buying Oreos.
  4. And it's a wrap: http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/business/2014/07/02/target-no-guns-policy/12014451/   Who's with me in the betting pool?   Next will be:   1. McDonalds 2. Publix 3. Kohls 4. *gasp* Walmart
  5. This is a good time to remember that the Prime Minister who orchestrated this in Australia basically:   1.  Tricked gun owners into eating their own by turning gun clubs against each other after promising to save a few if they gave him public support. 2.  Convinced them to pay for the confiscation through taxation. 3.  Enjoyed the fact that a Bill of Rights & orgs like the NRA have no place in Australia. 4.  Was perfectly willing to spend whatever amount of money it took to do this. 5.  Had no problem with dividing the country to get it done. 6.  Won't talk about crime rate or the fact that the black market has returned most, if not all, of the confiscated guns back to his country. 7.  Won't talk about the country's police chiefs complaining that gangs are still getting their guns and being unable to stop them.   He wrote an op-ed last year bragging about it:   http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/17/opinion/australia-banned-assault-weapons-america-can-too.html?_r=0   "To make this plan work, there had to be a federally financed gun buyback scheme. Ultimately, the cost of the buyback was met by a special one-off tax imposed on all Australians. This required new legislation and was widely accepted across the political spectrum. Almost 700,000 guns were bought back and destroyed — the equivalent of 40 million guns in the United States."   " Our gun lobby isn’t as powerful or well-financed as the National Rifle Association in the United States. Australia, correctly in my view, does not have a Bill of Rights, so our legislatures have more say than America’s over many issues of individual rights, and our courts have less control. Also, we have no constitutional right to bear arms. (After all, the British granted us nationhood peacefully; the United States had to fight for it.)"   "Many farmers resented being told to surrender weapons they had used safely all of their lives. Penalizing decent, law-abiding citizens because of the criminal behavior of others seemed unfair. Many of them had been lifelong supporters of my coalition and felt bewildered and betrayed by these new laws. I understood their misgivings. Yet I felt there was no alternative."   "The leaders of the National Party, as well as the premier of Queensland, courageously supported my government’s decision, despite the electoral pain it caused them. Within a year, a new populist and conservative political party, the One Nation Party, emerged and took many votes from our coalition in subsequent state and federal elections; one of its key policies was the reversal of the gun laws. For a time, it seemed that certain states might refuse to enact the ban. But I made clear that my government was willing to hold a nationwide referendum to alter the Australian Constitution and give the federal government constitutional power over guns. Such a referendum would have been expensive and divisive, but it would have passed. And all state governments knew this."
  6. Love the way he falsly suggests (for the umpteenth time) that the "most basic" background checks don't even exist and that firearm homicides are increasing.  And nobody in the MSM will ever challenge him on this.    Just once, I wish someone would point out to his lying face how demonstrably wrong this is.    Not that it would matter.  Lie, Rinse, Repeat.
  7. Shannon Watts (former PR gal) and the "Moms Hate Us" Crew are doing exactly what any PR strategist would do.  When you have a few small victories under your belt, then it's time to move to the big leagues.  Target will be a major victory, if they get it, because Bloomberg's astroturf gang will then turn to every other big box retailer and say, "Don't you want to be like Target or do you want us to tell the nation that you hate the children?"    Last I heard, profits have been down lately.    Walmart will fall next.  They might even stop selling guns & ammo if Bloomberg puts them on blast loud enough.
  8.   I also think that's where this is heading.  Along with public statements that we "don't bring our guns" from Target, Walmart, Publix, Krogers, Big Lots, Home Depot, Lowes, McDonalds, Burger King, . . . Pretty much every place Moms Demand Action snaps a pic of somebody sporting an AK/AR variant in the check-out line.  Which seems to be fashionable these days.  I'm getting my AR duracoated in purple tiger stripe for this very purpose since I'm a Prince fan and all.   A public relations expert would probably label this "Nightmare Scenario # 243."  With Nightmare Scenario # 242 having been the Catholic Church's handling of child molestation charges.   It's a good way to lose political support on a national level while, simultaneously, making an excellent point about 2nd Amendment rights.
  9. And the reversal: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/05/us/nra-backs-away-from-criticism-of-open-carry-advocates.html?_r=0   "The article remained on the group’s Institute for Legislative Action website on Wednesday, although the byline, "By the National Rifle Association," had been dropped. Its unsparing language prompted criticism from some N.R.A. members, which led the group to back away from the comments. “The truth is, an alert went out that referred to this type of behavior as ‘weird’ or somehow not normal, and that was a mistake. It shouldn’t have happened,” Chris W. Cox, the group’s chief lobbyist said in an interview Tuesday on an N.R.A.-hosted program that was posted on the group’s website Wednesday.  â€œThe National R.A. supports open carry,” Mr. Cox said. “We support concealed carry. We have led the charge across the county, to not only protect our members’ rights to self-defense, but to expand it.”  The association referred phone calls Wednesday to Mr. Cox’s remarks."   Personally, I think the original comments were spot-on.  Our strategy has to be a winning one.  Not one that just makes a visual impact.  I can petition my employer for better bathrooms without taking a dump on the CEO's desk.
  10. I've been telling people this for years.  Yes, Obama gets a lot of black voters.  Yes, I know quite a few black people who voted for him.  But, it is VERY rare that I hear any of them saying anything positive about Obama.  Actually, most of them have told me that they're not falling for the finger pointing.     The Dems only court them when they need votes, promising jobs and opportunity, and then promptly abandon them. Even worse, when Dems return for those votes, Obama just gives them a speech in his best MLK voice basically saying, "Sorry I've done nothing for ya, but hang with me folks because, who ELSE you gonna vote for?  Republicans?"   And when they give millions of illegals amnesty and any hope of finding employment goes bye-bye, you're going to see a mass exodus the likes of which would haunt any ancient pharoah's nightmares.
  11. Not quite as nasty as the title, but definitely dirty politics at its best.   http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/oct/9/miller-how-a-senator-got-her-guns-for-a-dc-show-an/?page=all#pagebreak   Roll the highlights:   1. Feinstein wanted guns for a public display to help her cause to hurt us, but she's missing the scary ones. 2. Oops, assault-looking-type-stuff is illegal to possess in DC (ask David Gregory about his extended AR mag), so what to do? 3. Feinstein's people call DC Chief's people for some show-and-tell material and the Chief doesn't want to be the next David Gregory so.... 4. Chief gives Feinstein the heaters, but says, "Let's keep this on the down-low. Wink Wink" 5. When Republicans wanted the same treatment, they were told to pound sand and then mocked for only having pictures. 6. FOIA exposes the Chief, who is pissed at Feinstein's thugs, and those thugs call the Chief a punk for letting a reporter...well...report stuff.   Emily Miller is no joke!
  12. Breaking news!  CNN to fire journalist for lies, lies, more lies, and agreeing with Second Amendment advocates:   http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/17/opinion/granderson-gun-control-fail/?hpt=us_mid   Yeah, Yeah,  he takes a small pot shot at Wayne LaPierre, but who hasn't?
  13. Remember earlier when they were saying, "We see no evidence that this is terrorism."???   "No piece of information is too small," said Valerie Parlave, assistant director in charge of the office. "We are looking to learn everything we can about his recent movements, his contacts and associates."   It's unclear whether another gunman also opened fire at the headquarters for Naval Sea Systems Command -- and why the shooting occurred, Washington Mayor Vincent Gray told reporters. "We'll continue to seek information about what the motive is. We don't have any reason at this stage to suspect terrorism," he said, "but certainly it has not been ruled out."   The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives sent a team of about 20 special agents to the scene, a law enforcement official said. The team was the same group that helped apprehend Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the official said.   Security was stepped up at the Pentagon. At least eight schools were on lockdown as a precaution, the Washington public schools said. Air traffic to Reagan National Airport in northern Virginia, the closest airport to downtown Washington, was suspended but later resumed, the Federal Aviation Administration said.   http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/16/us/dc-navy-yard-gunshots/   Ummm, yeah. . . this is very bad.
  14. Jay "The" Carney is running from talks of gun control faster than Bin Laden running from a Cracker Barrel Breakfast Sampler.   http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/09/16/jay-carney-gun-control_n_3936666.html?1379363388   I'm more scared than ever now!  They're. . . learning. :ugh:   This can't be good.   Or, they know something about this attack that they're not sharing yet. And if the early reports are true, this ain't no garden variety "workplace violence" incident.   And THAT'S not good either.
