They probably just tweaked or changed the mag. At any rate, me and Mike.357 both have one; I have the PlanetOfTheApes version and he has the TactiCool. We both really like 'em .. Seriously, mag lips may get too loose need to be squeezed back in,other than that, little goes wrong with them. Possibility you might need to replace firing pin at some point if getting light strikes (it can get damaged cleaning from bore and also does double duty as ejector) but worst case they'll send you one free with a phone call, easy to pop in there. Quite accurate at 50 yards, and no prob with torso shots out to 125, with just the stock iron sights. I guess I like my Kel-Tec sub2000 just a bit better because of high cap mags, nifty fold up feature, and interchange with handgun (although the 10 round HP carbine mags do fit in HP C9 pistol) but I love my HP995 like an ole ugly dawg. I'm proud owner of a mighty Hi-Point C9 also. - OS

If you're being quiet over a days' fishing, it pretty rare NOT to see snakes in the water near shore on Watts Bar where I grew up fishing. Occasionally would appear way out on night fishing grounds on edges of channel, drawn by the lanterns and all the minnow activity I guess. See them now and then out in middle of lake when you're putting across Also see quite a few various snakes up in the extensive willow bush structure which tends to take over most of the uninhabited shoreline. But none, of course, are cottonmouth. Hell, I had a big ass dark rat snake or king snake recently stretched perfectly along top of sliding glass door frame on my little porch right here in the urb. I'm sure if seen next to the water most anywhere in TN , many will automatically assume cottonmouth! -- these things don't look all that diff from the solid colored cottonmouth adults. - OS

No and no. - OS

Seems to me it would have to stand up in areas open to such when you were there. But that rules out all state parks most of the time and most state parks all of the time and GSMNP -- don't know what other federal lands, TVA lands, ACOE managed lands, and TN WMA lands hunting rules are regarding open season species. - OS

The problem is that handgun carry without HCP is prohibited on numerous classifications of land you may frequent, a separate matter from the unlawful carry ("going armed") statute. - OS

I would put it that other ARs have a dust cover added. Funny how none of my other semi-auto rifles or handguns seem to need dust covers either. - OS

Just no. No way. Several watersnakes in TN resemble cottonmouth. Hell, even cottonmouths don't all look even remotely the same, adults can be solid or banded, to a more or lesser degree. Point is, even in their known range cottonmouths are rare, other snakes common. Also, cottonmouths are not likely to climb tree limbs. They also don't favor large bodies of water for the most part compared to small sluggish creeks and streams. http://www.tennsnake...th Brochure.pdf Similar comparisons from VA, with one major diffs: They have the Eastern Cottonmouth, we have the Western, which is generally not as vividly banded, when indeed they even are perceptibly banded. What they call the Northern Watersnake is same as the Northern Diamondback Watersnake in the TN document. A very common snake all over TN. http://www.virginiah...th.asp#northern http://www.virginiah...th.asp#northern TWRA says: "COTTONMOUTHS (Agkistrodon piscivorus) DO NOT OCCUR IN EAST TENNESSEE. MOST REPORTED SIGHTINGS CAN BE ATTRIBUTED TO MISIDENTIFICATION OF THE NORTHERN WATERSNAKE" http://www.tn.gov/tw...nakesposter.pdf I'd opine that if you could somehow guarantee that folks weren't bringing them in from further south, a feller could offer $100 for each cottonmouth brought in statewide over a summer dead or alive, and not be out over two or three grand, and maybe not even half that. And of course a hefty fine for each non-poisonous one brought in also. - OS

WD is exactly right, MINORS cannot use handguns for hunting: "Juveniles under the age of eighteen (18) are prohibited from using handguns for the purpose of hunting." http://www.tn.gov/tw...untweapons.html (under "Prohibited Acts") - OS

AFAIK, there is no hunting reg that mandates open carry. - OS

Debbie Wasserman Schultz called it a "dry run" for the presidential election. First time I've ever thought she might be right about something. Even Obummer gave no more than one tweet's worth of support to the union side; so I'm hoping that the union vote nationwide may be soured somewhat. - OS

Well, the truth has a way of emerging over time. But since it's reopened: Knoxville Zoo, maybe. Now THIS is true, they are quite common over here. I stepped on one in my youth, like a wasp sting that didn't go away for a couple hours. There were a couple of places near the camp on Watts Bar I counseled at some where there were hundreds, anytime you wanted to flip over pieces shale rubble pile. Was standard part of the little nature tour we'd take the kids on. - OS

So you're a clear NO on constitutional carry as we have at least to some degree in half the states. Or even think that everyone should be able to own one at all, apparently. So what is your interpretation of "infringement" in 2A? - OS
-
.... Of course, all those things apply to everyone out there in the woods without HCP, not just under 21, except the safety course for old folks. You sure minors can't use handguns, too? - OS

Just another percentage call, figure enough folks will do that to make another profit. Biz of all types is in survival mode, sort of understandable in a way really. Rebates are actually another profit center. Data shows that many folks won't follow through on them, also the smaller the rebate the higher the opt out, too. All spreadsheet stuff where even a fraction of a % can be worth significant bucks to the bottom line. - OS

Well, I believe I'd wait for at least more than say, one instance per year of it happening anywhere in the US before I'd worry about it becoming a real threat to personal liberty. It's less comprehensive action than a simple DUI checkpoint. The handcuffing seems the only somewhat extreme part of the whole thing, not the stopping or detention. - OS

I've almost always bought the free shipping stuff there, that uses UPS to USPS for final delivery. Rather slow, but has always been flawless. Combine that with often cheapest price anywhere and it's rather a no-brainer -- at least until they have to start charging TN sales tax. - OS
-
Valid points, to be sure. Answer is, dunno. One thing is sure, that if some USPS rates like 13 oz First Class rate or Media Mail rate were to double, whole areas of commerce would just immediately likely go south. Every part of the economy is interdependent. Course, USPS claims that most of its losses are due to some pension stuff that Congress mandated over their own wishes, or something .. not really hip on that issue? - OS
-
?? Both it's and its are used correctly. A rare damn thang, too; kudos. - OS

CTD has really upped the shipping complexity angle, what with 5 warehouses or something, and a separate charge for anything from each one. - OS
