  1. Mike; Very nice! Where is everyone's pic's? Mike, how soft did you get it? Dave (WD-40)
  2. Since you really never said beyond "middle tennessee" as to you location, the Clarksville Rural King has it in those big huge bags. I use it in my rabbit dog's houses. Cheaper than Walmart also. WD
  3. All the more reason not to Open Carry. Besides, park rangers have to deal with alot of "Squirrels" on a daily bases! LOL WD
  4. That's a good question. I used to carry there all the time during the races. Lets see what we find out! WD
  5. I was asked once if I belonged to a gang. I said yes....AARP. Cop called me a smart @%%!!
  6. I will agree with the replys so far, and bad things do happen to us good citizens. The big question should be, would we be willing to spend the rest of our lives in prison defending someone we do not even know? It has happened. Courts get a hold of things and won't let it go. Also, would the person you defended (other than family member) be willing to share your legal expenses as they are going to be astronomical! These are all decisions I think we need to make in a thousandths of a second! WD
  7. I do not open carry, because it's no ones business whether I am packing or not. I don't like the "John Wayne" attention that it draws. WD
  8. I love hunting and hunt just about everything. Have no problem with my grandchildren watching a hunting show while they are here, but I, myself, find most of them to be a bit distasteful, so therefore, I choose not to watch them. I'm not sure if it is just the show itself, or the attitude of the host...I just don't care to see them. WD (Dave)

    Long guns in cars

You are not permitted to carry a loaded long gun (with or without) a HCP on any public road or public hunting area, in or on ANY motorized vehicle. A law was passed about 2 years ago allowing a hunter to carry a loaded weapon on an ATV ( motorized vehicle) while on private land. I found this out the hard way. Trust me...it's not legal. We were hunting public land last turkey season and decided to move down the road a piece. Being in my truck and not wanting to case the shot guns (which is required) or lay the gun in the bed of the truck, we just layed them in the back seat. We pulled off the gravel road to go about 200 yards down an old country blacktop road. As we were pulling out, the warden was pulling in. He stopped us to check for license and all things....loaded guns! Well guess what? I know now NOT TO DO IT! Also, be very careful of where you go (and with what handgun you have in your possesion) during the hunting season. HCP or otherwise! WD-40 (Dave)

Where can you keep a loaded long gun in your vehicle while hunting? WD
  11. Unzip or stall. Only other choice is don't carry. Maybe they should add this subject to the Handgun Carry class. Maybe if the weight of your gun pulls your pants down...maybe you should "down size" it! WD
  12. WELCOME TO TGO! I can't offer much on the Hornady press. All my stuff is LEE. If you're interested, I have several hundred rounds of 9mm brass free for the taking. WD Dave
  13. Think of it this way....You are stopped by LEO for lets say...speeding. The officer is standing at your car window waiting for you to retreive your registration and Insurance info from your glove box. You lean over and your handgun falls onto the floor or onto the seat. LEO is most likely going to step back, shove his Glock in your face and start yelling for you to keep your hands on the steering wheel, or get out of the vehicle and onto to the ground. With society as it is today, the officers response would be appropriate for his own safety. Now, if he knew "up front" that you were armed and that happened....he may only ask you not to touch it, or even hand it to him with your off hand. I personally will let him know. No reason to disrespect the officer and he would probably appreciate your assistance. Your honesty may even get you a warning instead of a ticket! Just my .2 cents worth! Dave
  14. No, Just Barkley WMA where ATV use is restricted by law, but trying to get a TWRA officer to do his job is almost impossible! There are gangs of them there and they even have a race course set up. We have tried and tried to speak personally with the wildlife officer to no avail. So I am probably done with WMAs.
  15. WMA's are nice areas to hunt. You just need to tolerate 4-wheelers with loud mufflers driving through the woods tearing everything up....really hard to enjoy your hunt! Dave
  16. Welcome to TGO and Fort Campbell!! I work on post, and think you'll love the place. Montgomery County also has ans AWESOME shooting complex...again welcome! Dave
  17. So, all those migrant workers that gang up outside of our local walmart stores, are actually waiting to be called into the back of the store to take a place at the "reloading bench"? That makes more sense than the ammo companies making cheap ammo just for walmart! Dave
  18. I was out hunting this morning and found my first shed ever. It meant so much to find it! It was a nice rack and the "ol' boy" sporting it would have been about a 10 pointer. We searched high and low and couldn't find the other side...but what a find indeed! Dave
  19. UPDATE...well, the cowhide is almost done. It is tanned, stretched out on plywood to dry, and then will be ready to sand down. The guy I am doing it for has his house decorated in a southwest motif, and will be using the hide for a rug. It measures 7.6 foot wide and 8.5 foot long. It will be a beautiful red furred rug! It was a big job to do...but it looks awesome! So, how are your projects coming? Dave (WD)
  20. I'm rather fond of my 7mm/08. If it wasn't for that, I'd probably go 25-06. It's mostly a matter of choice, and "flat shooting" is a relative term I think. Dave
  21. Yes, you are right. It hurts me because of my knee and hip. Makes it difficult to hunt sometimes. I am really trying hard to find some land, but it is hard to come by. Dave
  22. I wish I knew of a place. I'm looking too. I assume by your avatar picture you use a four wheeler? Most places/clubs around here doesn't allow them. Dave
  23. Well, Grandpa can't be wrong. The buttermilk sounds good too! Ya'll got me want'n some tree rats, and all I'm grill'n for dinner is these deer ribs! Dave
  24. I cook them over a campfire at deer camp, and they are pretty good. I may try marinating some and grilling them to see how they come out. Why would you boil them first before grilling? I have not heard of cooking them that way. Dave
