What you don't like having to read someone else's endless drivel of semantics and philosophical debate! Just kidding I read most of your stuff.

Which model is that and how is the cant?

If that is true then, we as gun owners would never have gotten 2a opened up like it has recently, the USA would not exist, no empire that has fallen would have fallen. Think about it. It is the small ground swells of justice rooted in these "rights" that have led revolutions and nation building. It is moral relativism that has brought them down.
-
Jamie, your assertion just isn't true. While there can be a temporary swing in moral relativism, every society that has ever existed has always swung back to a set of universal principles that hold true throughout the world. Murder is an example. Think of it like the free market. There are absolutes in control that dictate flow. While folks can try to alter them and "regulate" them out they will eventually self correct. Why? they are universal truth principals. and that is my point. The framers were not deciding some new "truths" that hadn't been seen before but that they were simply recognizing as a society that these extensional universal truths of life would be our governing force. I'm not at odds with you as much as you may think.

That's moral relativism and is at philosophical odds with the framers understanding of "rights." The framers and many here believe that there are absolutes of right and wrong that exist regardless of personal consent. For instance, even if a society decides that murder is legal it is irrelevant to the fact it is always wrong. Just because a majority rules does not make them right. That is Fascism - might is right. True democracy is flawed because of this issue and exactly why we wanted a republic instead of pure democracy. When man becomes morally relativist, society will fail. In fact I heard Michale Savage discussing this very thing tonight concerning the summer of '69 and the fall of American morality. There has to be an extensional rule of law that is not subject to consent. However you are correct in your frustration that these "rights" can become subjective when a large enough group of individuals are willing to rebel against absolutes and force their hedonistic will on others. This is what is known as persecution. Get ready.

Maybe it's me, but I don't see anything? I love looking at the EMP's. Beautiful guns!

I had one of the Dakota defenders for an XD9 and that thing was beautiful! It worked extremely well too. I just wish he could turn them out quicker, because the mixture of quality and price can't be matched. -
I think that is an option for departments that may require that type of thing. I have never seen one myself and don't know if it is even available to the general public on a one gun basis.
-
Well, OK. I guess I did get it then. I just though maybe there was a more specific definition or origin. Over thinking at 4 am will do that!
-
Although I've heard zombie talk for the longest time, I guess I never got it. What is the etymology of "zombies" in gun culture? Just seems weird to me.

Don't you know that a defensive shotgun doesn't have to be aimed. Point and shoot my friend! Seriously though, on my Mossy 500 I had to try a few different stocks to get the right fit and feel for me.

If your going for play things that may not be a round much longer get the CETME and lots of ammo! All the others will still be here for next years return.

Good post. My family is in the fine dining business and deal with a lot of politicians and "star" types so it's not as much of an issue for us, but we are glad non the less. I think the best way to "win" after restaurant carry is law, is for nothing to change except for more business. If we get a lot of badgers, HCP Badge wearing fools who feel the need to badger people with their rights, then it will only confirm the liberals mistaken idea we are a bunch of redneck hillbilly fools looking for "bar fights" and shootouts.

should physicians routinely inquire about guns?
Smith replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Tim that's great! I doubt they would sign such a thing, but it does put it into context. As to the other remarks, if asked I would tell him/her (Dr.) to check your "Lemon Squeezer"! -
Why is it that this kind of crap always gets in these threads any time there is mention of cops? Thanks to the overwhelming number of good guys doing their jobs!

should physicians routinely inquire about guns?
Smith replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I have an aunt in Arkansas who was a family services employee who handled child abuse claims. She is very nice but her life is a testament to bad decisions.... over and over and over. As much as I love her, if those are the kind of people who make the decision unilaterally to take kids into custody....... I am deeply troubled and will not answer any questions or volunteer any info on how my family is conducted. -

Old argument they have been trying for years. If they can clear guns as medical devices they can be regulated as health concerns to public safety and sidestep 2a and every other current law. -
A technicality, but those aren't AK's. Completely different systems and internals. Parts are not interchangeable. They are extremely nice guns. If only parts were more available.
-
That argument is based entirely on emotional fear of a possibility. I again will point out it has never been used in a court case I know of. The only court case didn't invovled the actual gun involved in the incident. In fact you could argue the exact opposite, that as a responsible gun owner you wanted the most control and precision possible to avoid hitting innocent bystanders. That being said, Jh get what you want and try it out. If it's not for you then sell it to someone else. I have bought and tried numerous things people raved about and some that folks hated the very thought of. Point is i found I like some from and hate some from each category. It's all personal.

I too had the P11 and hated the trigger as well. Since I've had two PF9's and really liked them. The trigger is significantly improved. It is much smoother and lighter than the P11. It is still long, but that is just part of it. The PF9 is more like a decent revolver than the P11 ever was IMO.
