See my post above. If you are going to use the "form" let folks know up front. Most guys i know if you show up with one of those you will leave disappointed and they will leave a little more than perturbed.It offers no protection and is the legal equivalent of an HCP badge.

Just curious how they do post production melonite. My understanding is the salt nitride bath had to be done prior to heat treating. If that is the case is there a difference between normal melonite and melonite refinishing?

I've had two different 5.56 uppers and two 6.8. I really like the 6.8 for the added versatility. I can hunt everything the 5.56 can and add some of the bigger game as well. When I got my first 6.8 (Ko-tonics) ammo prices were quite a bit higher and made it hard to justify. I ended up selling that one (wish I hadn't). Nowadays it is much more reasonable, especially considering the rise in prices of everything else. Silver State is also about to release some "plinking" rounds that are going to make it even better to shoot the 6.8. My suggestion would be to keep the 5.56 upper and just get a 6.8 upper. There are a couple of new custom builders doing really good builds for reasonable prices - Bison Armory and Titan Armory. Check out the 6.8 forum as well. Maks are great inexpensive (Russian and E German excluded) pocket pistols. The trigger pull can be reduced through springs and the round is pretty good. Plus you can change barrels and make it a .380. They are rock solid pistols. As has been said the p64 is NOT a Makarov. It is more akin to a PPK clone, although internals are a little different. That being said I prefer the P64 to a Mak due to size and asthetics. The Makarov site is a very good resource.

Eh, the other guy is about the same. I do think it buys time which is always a good thing. I also think the destabilization of the current structure is also a good thing. As justme pointed out Iran had been historically fairly civil - until the "revolution". Since then they have quietly been one of the largest funders of weapons and money to Hesbollah, terroist, etc. against Israel and the world. A little instability might be a good thing if it allows the Iranian people to get back on the good track.
