  1. Those facebook posts are disturbing. They want to disarm their fellow citizens, while at the same time supporting someone attacking a citizen exercising his constitutional and legal rights. I'd hate to see what this country would look like if they were in charge.
  2. It's here. http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/Default.aspx?BillNumber=HB1407
  3. Says it was placed "Behind the Budget". No idea what that means though.
  4. AR for sure, prices won't get much lower, and as election year gets closer...well ya never know what a lame duck dem will do on his way out the door. At the very least the fear of it will affect prices and availability. I got all the basic parts minus the lower for 470 from PSA a month or so ago. Just needed sights, mags and ammo after that.
  5. Well if he does there"s still a chance he'll be overridden. What majority is required for that?
  6. The smart move by Haslam would be to not sign it and straddle the fence, guess we'll see. I don't see why cities should be allowed to infringe 2A, our taxes pay for those parks. Edit: Placed on cal. Civil Justice Committee for 3/12/2014. No amendments noted.
  7. Yeah the smaller bikes are a ton of fun, and much more forgiving when you do something dumb like chop the throttle or accelerate too soon coming out of the turn. Lot to be said for riding a smaller bike fast then riding a big bike slow. Also nice to be able to hoon around on the backroads right in the middle of the powerband without going so far over the speed limit that you'll automatically go to jail.   Honestly I expected I would have outgrown it and upgraded by now, but really the only reason I see to upgrade is for more modern looks, and for fuel injection, and those aren't terribly pressing concerns. SV650 is pretty high on my list. I would prefer the standard without clipons, but most of them are nakeds and I want a faired version. Probably going to end up with a Ninja 650 if I can find one that isn't thrashed.
  8. Nice bike, I got my first bike last year, went for the first ride of the season a couple weeks ago. Ninja 500. Wanted a cruiser, but I have a gravel driveway with 2 90 degree turns, ruts, and a switchback at the top so I wanted something lighter to learn how to deal with that. Wasn't as bad as I thought, the bike likes to wander a bit on the gravel as it finds the path of least resistance but just gotta remember to stay loose and not fight it too much. 60+ MPG and cheap as hell on insurance since it's classed as a touring bike instead of sportbike.
  9. It was pretty handy, nice to have a checklist to look at, and see exactly what's been completed and what needs to be done, and whether the background check has been completed. Doesn't have detailed information for the background check, just pending/approved you'll receive it within 10 days. I checked it every morning cause I was curious to see how long it would take.   I was a little surprised it took so long to receive it in the mail, mail shouldn't take that long from Nashville but maybe they only mail them out a couple times a week or something.
  10. I completed mine a couple weeks ago, and did the online application. I actually didn't know about it before I took the class (I've had the HCP before, figured it was still a paper thing), but he told me about the online app, and on one of the breaks during the class portion he let me in his office to do on his computer. Didn't know it was this new though.   App is online, carry permit class pass/fail status is updated online. Still have to make DMV visit to show birth certificate/take picture/pay fee, then go online or call to schedule appt for fingerprints. I did DMV and fingerprints on the same day, background check completed and application approved in 8 days, 6 days after that received permit, so 14 days total, including weekends. Lot faster than last time I did it a few years back, back then they really pushed the 90 day limit. That was a long wait.     As for benefits, well for one you can also use the same page to check the status of the application.
