  1. He said he's never touched a gun before.
  2. Yes, that and I just loved the character of Jack Ryan - pretty much doing the right things under pressure even though it's rarely the easy thing to do.
  3. Yeah, something like that. One supreme was left back and he swore Jack Ryan in. I thought it interesting that long before 911, Tom Clancey thought of flying a plane into a building as an act of terrorism. After 911 I wondered if old Osama Bin Azzhole read Clancy's book, but missed the part about doing it during the State of The Union Address. That's about the only efficient, (and was realistic), way of cleaning out Washington.
  4. Even if he went there intentionally they over-reacted IMHO. He kind of violates the, "You don't win arguments with the police on the side of the road" advice that many lawyers give, but I imagine being a lawyer and guns there's a definite angle he's playing here.
  5. My guess is that the lawyer went there with the intent of eliciting this reaction. Several patrons saw the gun is the statement that makes me believe this. He wanted people to see the gun and react.
  6. http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/08/09/13198412-lawyer-explains-why-he-brought-gun-to-batman-showing?lite MWAG call nets legally carrying LAWYER an arrest! What's wrong with this picture??
  7. I don't up or down anyone's posts. Everyone's got opinions, and if the entire world thought the same way it'd be a pretty boring place.
  8. I wasn't meaning you specifically, if that's what you thought. I was speaking generally. Kind of like the people who say they vote democrat because their parents vote democrat, and their grandparents vote democrat....
  9. Now we'll have a bunch of morons calling for stricker shipping regulations.
  10. I think that it's a lack of marketing. It takes a lot of marketing ($$$) to win an election. I would guess that the majority of Americans have no friggen idea what the Libertarians stand for. Heck, I'd wager many of them don't know what the D's and R's actually stand for as evidenced by the copious examples of people saying that they are voting for Oblamo without being able to give one solid answer as to why. My daughter started to do that during the last election cycle. I asked her why she wanted to vote for Oblamo to which she said, "He just speaks to me!" It took quite a lot of time with her stating her beliefs and me pointing out that Oblamo didn't agree with said beliefs that she eventually voted for McCain.
  11. I don't know about that. Many people just don't want to throw their votes away and see people like Oblamo voted into office. If there was a viable third party candidate I'd vote for him/her. Tom Clancy wrote in one of his novels about the President, congress, and supremes all dying from a Japanese pilot crashing a fully fueled 747 into the capital during the State of The Union Address, and the character Ryan became president. He made a lot of changes that I would have agreed with had it been reality. That's pretty much the only viable way to get a 3rd party into the whitehouse, but don't forget you'd also need a third party congress to boot.
  12. I won't argue with that first part. I am actually a centrist according to the "tests" that people like to post once in a while. I'm also a realist. I got on the Ross Perot bandwagon full tilt and watched the country elect a lying sex addict for a president, and even re-elect same. There are many things that I agree with RP on, (foreign policy is NOT one of them), but the 60% of disenfranchised voters cannot/will not get off their collective butts and vote...period! No one has been a competent enough leader to get them to do so: therefore, I will continue to vote for the lesser of two evils until that person comes along.
  13. Again, lighten up, Francis.
  14. Why would you need to understand my assertion? He understood it. Lighten up, Francis!
  15. Well, good luck with that.
  16. After all of the posts for Ron Paul you have now switched to Gary Johnson? Loyalty doesn't rate high for you, does it?
  17. The perp would have had tunnel vision from fight or flight syndrome. The old man may have had an 8" 44 magnum for all I know, and had time to let loose some well-aimed shots before the guy noticed him.
  18. Sorry, but you'd have to be a friggen idiot to believe this ad...oh, wait!
  19. I was talking about a person that I know who lives in San Francisco. I had to live there when I was a Marine. I don't care to go back.
  20. Ain't that the truth! They provide entertainment for those who don't take politics seriously.
  21. I think the point isn't this state; it's the swing states. Don't think people in swing states read forums in this state. As you pointed out DaddyO could vote for Bugs Bunny and it doesn't make a difference, but there's plenty of other states where that's not true, and hopefully those on the fence or those like DaddyO will be convinced to get off their azzes and vote! 60% of eligible voters don't vote, so those in swing states certainly do make a difference.
  22. Yes, but do you notice how they always start and finish that crap with a smirk on their face? They either can't keep a straight face when they tell a lie or are extremely please at the reaction it causes. I believe that it's the latter. People don't tend to think as well when they are emotional, so if they push your buttons you won't debate as well.
  23. Do you really think that any Superpac is completely independent of the candidate?
  24. Well, this thread certainly got off topic quickly. Please close it.
