  1. I've read elsewhere it could be Glenn and Abraham just to prove a point.
  2. Thanks everyone for the responses. I'm definitely going to try the Lanolin with either HEET or Alcohol. Maybe both!!
  3. What is liquid heat? Where do you buy it? And Lanolin is like a hand lotion?
  4. Do you let the Hornady dry before sizing like you do normal lube?
  5. I have heard guys are using Hornaday's One Shot gun cleaner and dry lube. I use RCBS case lube at present but was curious what else people were using. Anyone got a good home remedy that works well?
  6. I bought a project off a guy that needed some money. I don't have anywhere to finish it at home. It's a Mauser action with a custom stock in 300 win mag. It could be a nice long range shooter but it needs the action bedded, pillar bedded, and the barrel free floated. It will also need to be re-blued or dura coated. I live near Sweetwater, so let me know who does this kind of work.   Thanks!!
  7. You can't but from Benton's they are way too high. Got to pay for that big building and all that stock they carry.
  8. Gander Mtn. does indeed have reloading supplies. In the back of the store near where the 4 wheelers used to be. They have lots of primers and powder.
  9. Thanks for the information I will look more at the 250g.
  10. So does anyone reload shotgun? I do but if I'm in the minority then there is no point in just stocking for me.    What about reloading equipment? Dies? Collets? Shell Holders? Tumbler medium?    Keep it coming guys, I would like to kinda get a head count.
  11. So I may be able to help decide what supplies for reloading are ordered for a gun shop in the Athens area. What would you guys in the area like to see on the shelves? What should be avoided? Only want to order what will sell. Don't want stuff that will sit on shelves and collect dust.   Please reply only if you are in the general area. We might be able to get exactly what we want and need with a little time.   Thanks!!!
  12. Haven't bought anything yet. Probably something in the 200-215 gr. range. I will probably try some different bullet weights as we go to try and find the best combo for this gun. We have only shot a few factory loads so far and they were 250 gr.
  13. It is the 110 FCP. It shoots great so far. We have shot out to 400 yds. Not at moa yet but hand loading should help the groups. And hopefully the shooters will get better as we shoot more as well.
  14. Thanks for the info guys. I will get both
  15. I load Power Pistol with 180 . I haven't had any issues with it.
  16. My son just bought a Savage in .338 Lapua. I reload several other calibers already. My question is should I buy just a neck sizing die or a full length set. All the brass he has has been shot in his rifle. I believe just sizing the neck is the way to go. It will increase the life of the cases. So what is everyone else doing?
  17. Most departments force their officers to carry whatever they decide on as a department. So the LEO has no choice in the matter. I have a friend that works for City of Knoxville and they were forced to change from a Glock 22 to a Sig .45 cal. There were many that wanted to stay with the Glock but again it wasn't their choice. I said all that to say this, the data is skewed because the LEOs wouldn't always choose a Glock.
  18. I own and carry a SR9C. It is a great weapon and shoots as good as anything I have ever shot. It has the 10 rd. mag for carry and the 17 rd. mag for high capacity. I have fired probably a couple thousand rounds in my Ruger and for me it is a very reliable and accurate weapon. It has never had a single issue with not ejecting or cycling a round.   I won Glocks as well just not a 27. I have nothing bad to say about a Glock. I enjoy shooting them as well.
  19. Who all is going to the show? I hope to find some shotshell reloading supplies as I can't find it anywhere else!!!
  20. I have been pulled over several times for various reasons and as a rule I always tell the Leo that i'm legally(all before the new law). They seem to appreciate the fact that I told them up front and I've only had one instance where the Leo actually asked to take possession of my weapon. Since in Tennessee, your HCP # is the same as your driver's license, most of the time if your driving a vehicle registered to you, they already know you have a HCP before ever leaving their car.
  21. No only when I wing shot a bird and they would run from me lol. We didn't have a dog but honestly didn't need one.
  22. We had a great shoot on my cousins chopped corn fields. I limited out and helped the kids try and hit a few. We left around 6 and the sky was still full of birds. Several folks had their limits as we were leaving.
  23. Hey all,             Just found this site. Looks great so far. I'm a reloader of everything. I have two young shooters that are ready to start some skeet and trap this coming year. We shoot a lot of rounds from rifle to pistol and of course shotgun. My wife shoots as well.    Well enough for now, if you want to know more just ask.
