  8. Any takers @ $850?
  9. Hello, I've had this in storage for a few years and just don't use it anymore. Great accessory to have when you need to clean long parts or multiple parts at once. I don't remember what I paid for it, but here's a link to a similar model: https://www.brownells.com/tools-cleaning/gun-cleaning/ultrasonic-gun-cleaners/turbo-sonic-power-professional-ultrasonic-cleaner/ Price drop $1,000OBO
  10. The Black Warrior WMA in northern AL is about the closest area that we could find to Nashville.  We have seen signs but brought nothing home.   I'm all for another trip!!
  11. Anybody know any land owners that want their hogs removed?
  12. I just bought 2 boxes of Hornady 300aac brass. I put all 50 of the first one in a tray to inspect this new brass. This is going to be the first reload of this cartridge. So in the picture you'll see the case which doesn't look like the rest of them. I have an email into Hornady about this. Can anyone explain at what process this brass stopped? I know they aren't trimming down .223 brass.
  13. I got a steal at $1200 for up to 5 guys.  Turns out this is more of an eradication trip that a trophy hunt.  Hence the cost covers room, board, and baiting.  It's post deer season and working directly with the land owner to get the hogs out of the local watering holes.   TX lets you hunt at night too:)   It was suggested that we pull a trailer with a freezer to fill, using an attached generator will keep the bacon fresh.   It would be great to find a TN land owner that has the same needs.  I'm game for setting up more trips over the winter.
  14. I can understand that. I'm going to tx in feb. the land owner is charging us room and board for 3 days. Unguided, unlimited, and unrestricted fun. It'll soon turn into a large invasion and force the TWRA to change the rules? Thanks
  15. I read the TN Wildlife article about the Partnering Against Wild Hogs and am curious how prolific they really are. Are land owners seeing an uptick in rooting? How long have they had this MOU in place? I'm interested in finding a land owner that would like help eliminating them. If anybody is willing to share private info, I can help with most of the necessary equipment. Please post thoughts about local hog hunting locations and methods.
  16. It's somewhat like speeding, you might get away with it for a while, but eventually you will get caught. Though this situation isn't worth the "ticket."
  17. Drop me a line if you find an opportunity to hunt those pigs.
  18. Ask the mosin owners........Russkies. Though I don't know if they have Crappie and White Bass in that part of the world.
  19. We were in the Sipsey, mainly around the 208 Trailhead, the east side of the wilderness preserve. We tried behind the church and cemetery on that same road. It was understood about the nocturnal nature. So we tried to stay late and getup early, even at that it seems to be a crap shoot. There are a ton of bluffs, we were told the same thing by some others. They mentioned to look for the holly trees and find the caves that smell like a barn. The link below is the one for the additional map we used. See the 208 trail.
  20. I originally posted an invite to travel to Alabama for a hog hunt inside the Blackwarrior WMA. This trip actually happened with 4 guys, all rookies to the allusive feral hog. While prepping for this adventure I must have read 100 different articles on tactics, methods, and recipes. We car camped at a trail head, so we could maximize our time spent in the woods. Needless to say, we were all amp'ed up to get out their. So after a couple good hikes through the woods, we saw nothing but tracks and signs. There must have been 10 different people that we ran into, going or coming back, and everyone of them had seen nothing. Though each had their proverbial story of a friend that shot one in the same area. We were on our way out at the end of our trip, everyone sighing of aches and pains from the hilly terrain, when someone spotted a black moving object moving from the road darting into the woods and down a ravine. We all anxiously jumped out and crept into the woods looking for the target. In total only one of the four hunters saw something, at the very end of the trip while driving fast down a dirt road. I think he saw a chupacabra, not a pig. I don't foresee the Alabama Fish and Game eradicating this creature that is "so prevalent." For the hunter in me, I hope they multiply this year and get worse. So I can come back next year and actually see something. For the conservationist in me, I hope they wipe them out completely. These roto-tillers on 4 legs are a serious hazard to the stabilization of the ecosystem. Anyways, I'm going to better my odds next time and bring some dogs Thermal/NV scope to have my way with them. I know they are out there. Thanks to all for the info. It was a pleasure to get out with a fellow TGO'er, XDShooter, nice guy. Johnny_Utah
  21. Dog's make it much easier. I would go at that time too.
  22. you are correct about Blackwarrior as the WMA. It is located inside the Bankhead National Forest, which has the WMA inside it. I believe the WMA is divided into an "A" and "B" sides. Then inside the WMA their is the Sipsey Wilderness inside the "A" zone. Basically, this is a triple secret location. Sipsey inside Blackwarrior inside Bankhead. Call me, lets get this going. I'll send you a PM Hunter
