  1. This is a good idea if they allow it. I'd be interested in trying some of their products, especially with a discount.
  2. My mistake. I must have misread your post.
  3. I think it's the Log Cabin Republican edition.

    Ruger 10/22 Price?

Yes. The factory mount that comes with 10/22s will work with 3/8" tip-offs or Weaver mounts.
  5. True. If you want to see something that may be less than ideal turned in to a complete clustersex, let the government run it.
  6. Yes, thanks for the link. I have signed up as well.
  7. And how many of those ever made it back to their rightful owners?
  8. I know. I was only referring to sales that require you to fill out a 4473. If you buy ALL of your firearms through private sales you may be able to avoid the inevitable national registry.
  9. I'm not surprised by this at all. We all already knew, or should have, that we have gun registration, or more accurately, gun owner registration. When a dealer goes out of business and turns over their 4473's to the BATFE, they sure aren't going to just destroy them. They will be logged in a database to be referenced by the government. Of course some of the guns that had 4473's filled out on them will have been sold to someone else, but the person who bought them will still be known to be a gun owner. Quite simply, Form 4473=delayed gun owner registration.
  10. I can't think of many, if any, mass shootings that DIDN'T happen in a "gun free zone".

Yes. I understand how that works. Also, Glocks suck.:hiding:

    Ruger 10/22 Price?

What isn't critical about the trigger housing? There are lots of moving parts in the trigger group that rely heavily upon a couple of holes in a piece of plastic. They didn't make the trigger group and barrel band out of plastic to make them more durable or to improve function. They did it to increase profits. I'll admit that the new parts may be just fine though. I guess I'm just an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of guy.

    Ruger 10/22 Price?

I'm not at all surprised that aluminum is easier to bend or break when you drop it than plastic is. The question is, will the plastic hold critical tolerances after years of service?
  14. You can get discounts on hotels, gear, rental cars, and other stuff with an AMA membership- AMA Membership Services Center . For an extra $35 a year, you can get roadside assistance, even if you are driving your car and not riding. Having said that, I still hate the AMA for letting the manufacturers make the rules and kill the two-strokes.
  15. Lots of places give AMA(American Motorcycle Association)discounts too.

I'd go with a used one. At least with the older ones you get a metal trigger group housing and barrel band.
  17. I'm certainly not trying to defend disrespectful, foul-mouthed customers, but you are going to get a few and have to be able to deal with it as professionally as possible. No one deserves to be berated or disrespected, but I still think that it sometimes comes with the territory. You have to be able to placate some jerks. Sometimes professionalism, courtesy, and respect rubs off. Sometimes people will act more respectful when they are speaking to a "higher up". And if someone has to tell an unruly customer to pound sand as a last resort, let it be a supervisor or higher.
  18. Good post, much of which I agree with. But I don't think it is fair to expect the customer to have to work around a CS person, calling at different times or on different days to avoid them. They are getting paid to help the customer and should be polite and respectful, even to those people who probably don't deserve to be treated with respect. Being able to "turn the other cheek" and being able to leave you problems at home are part of the job. Any CS rep. who is incapable of doing that is in the wrong line of work. If you have a customer you can't work with, politely pass them off to a supervisor. At least then the supervisor will know the type of person you are trying to deal with should they complain about you. If you are the supervisor, then you have to already know how to grin and bear it. As far as companies with good CS goes, Weatherby has been very good in my experience.
  19. I don't understand it either. Pistol to rifle or rifle to pistol, neither makes any sense to me really.
  20. That thing is amazing!
  21. Who did you find to be more argumentative and confrontational, the officer or the citizen? Would you define this officer as a d***head? It seems clear to me that the officer initiated and escalated the confrontation while trying to intimidate the OCer. And then he even went so far as to make up his own laws on the spot. I would consider that to be d***ish behavior.I don't have a problem with this guy as an example for open carriers based on what is in this video. He may not have obeyed the officer, but he knew and obeyed the law. And he stood up for his rights.
  22. No kidding. And she's allowed to vote.

Yep. I think UT will be contending for the best team in the SEC East next year, and will be a force when Kiffin has a few years worth of recruits on the roster. I've never been this excited about a 4-4 team. Of course, all four losses were by a combined 20 points.

The most surprising thing to me, aside from the jerseys which I liked, was that Tennessee at 3-4 was a 4.5 point favorite against a ranked team that was 6-2. At least the bookies are giving UT a little respect. They are a lot better than their record. Especially when you consider that two of their four losses came to the, at the time, number 1 teams in the nation.
  25. That depends on the spacing and size of the mounting screws. The size of the recoil grooves on a Picatinny rail is .204" with .394" CTC spacing. Weaver recoil grooves are .180" with no definite CTC spacing. So if you have a Picatinny rail, then Weaver type screws will fit in the recoil groove. But if the spacing is not adjustable like it would be with standard weaver style rings, then you might have a problem there. Standard, single mounting screw Weaver style rings on a typical scope are adjustable over the length of the scope, so recoil groove spacing shouldn't be an issue. For a product that has a definite, non-adjustable distance between mounting screws, it should be built to the Picatinny spacing, since Weaver doesn't have a definite spacing distance. That may not be the case though, if a company wants to sell you a different mounting bracket for Weavers and Picatinnys.Your best bet to know for sure may be to email or call Trijicon and get the specifics on the particular sight/mount you are looking at. Which product are you looking at?
