  1. From the looks of those photos, it is absolutely amazing that the parents survived the blast.
  2. It's possible, but I don't think it is very likely. The fact that there are so many new owners of so called "assault weapons" in the last year, makes it even less likely. So far they have stayed away from most things that would be directly 2nd Amendment related. The closest they have come to a direct attack has been the misinformation that they were spreading about how legal civilian weapons in America were causing the drug violence problems in Mexico. I think that was a sort of feeler to gauge public reaction and determine whether or not another AWB could be pushed. It has been said that you "can never let a good crisis go to waste". It seems that they were unable to turn Mexican drug violence into a big enough crisis to go for a new AWB. The only thing that really concerns me at the moment is the willingness of the current regime to push through controversial programs in spite of a clear majority of the public being against them.
  3. Why would anybody take that wager? The odds are overwhelmingly in favor of it not being the guns fault. If we inserted the name S&W, Ruger, Beretta, Sig, Colt, etc., etc., etc. in place of Glock, the odds certainly wouldn't get any better that it was the guns fault then either.
  4. I got hit in the head with an aluminum baseball bat once and all I saw was a bright flash of light. Then I hurled my guts out. I feel like I got gipped.
  5. +1. Anyone who believes that ANY manufacturer, of ANY product, couldn't possibly EVER turn out a piece that is not to spec and would fail under normal use is kidding themselves.
  6. That's some great shooting and the crowd was huge and really in to the event. Out of curiosity, do the civilians use bolt-actions entirely by choice or are they just not allowed to own semi-autos there? It seemed like the semi-autos had a big advantage in the single target rapid fire.
  7. Does anyone else consider the timing of this crap a bit convenient? It's no coincidence that it comes right before the Copenhagen meetings and right after the leaked emails that throw serious doubt on the so-called climate scientists who are pushing the AGW agenda.
  8. I really like Rand Paul and I hope he wins. I just wish he were in Tennessee to bump off Alexander.
  9. Glocks just don't feel right to me either, never have. I do have a S&W M&P9c that I like a lot though. If you want to try and buy new and you aren't in a really big hurry, S&W has been having special offers on M&Ps pretty regularly for the last couple of years. When I bought mine they were offering a rebate for either two free magazines or $50. That would get the price down a little closer to the range you mentioned. I took the two free mags and it worked out to be a great deal. It did take a while to get my free mags though.
  10. Nice. But I've always fancied myself as more of a Han Solo than a Luke Skywalker.
  11. I can't tell you what to get. But I'd get an M1A.
  12. +1. Good stuff.
  13. He should buy two Glocks. That way he'd have one to on and one to cover it up with.
  14. :rofl:I like it. This little gem is my favorite- "No pain...good!":D
  15. No sweat M&P.
  16. I agree that the Heisman Trophy is not the be-all end-all award for college football. And, like you, I'm still a little peeved that Peyton got screwed out of the award. But I didn't start this thread to discuss the merits of the Heisman Trophy, or to see who fellow football fans thought would get the award. I just posted to see who everyone thinks deserves the award if they had a vote.
  17. I don't really have any strong feelings about TCU either way, I just think they are very underrated. I'll almost always root for the underdog though. They are projecting Cincinnati to possibly play Florida in a bowl. Go Bearcats! As for Alabama versus Texas, go Bama!
  18. I think Bama's lucky they are playing Texas. TCU would spank 'em.
  19. I think the Heisman voters have a little more integrity than the Nobel Prize committee.
  20. Good point Jason and That Guy. I should have included Suh in the poll. He is one heck of a player. But as you guys said, I really don't think he has a shot at actually winning the Heisman, even if he maybe should. No player who played exclusively on defense has ever won the Heisman Trophy. Only five players have ever won who didn't play either running back or quarterback, and they all played at least some at wide receiver or tight end. Charles Woodson is the closest thing to a purely defensive player that has ever won the Heisman, and he primarily won it for returning kicks and playing some wide receiver(and so Peyton couldn't have it).
  21. No offense, but why would you want to post and vote in a thread you don't care about?
  22. Now that the conference championships have been played, who do you guys think should win the Heisman Trophy? Toby Gerhart of Stanford has had a great year but his team lost four games. Mark Ingram of Alabama played well against Florida in helping Alabama win, but he doesn't have the numbers of Gerhart. Colt McCoy of Texas, who might have locked it up with a big game in the Big 12 championship, played poorly in squeaking out a win against Nebraska. Kellen Moore of Boise State had a great season too, but against some weaker opponents. Tim Tebow of Florida did not play well in the SEC championship and lost badly to Alabama. So who do you guys think should win the Heisman Trophy this year and why?
  23. Congratulations on a great season to Cincinnati. The shame is that, without a playoff system, someone is going to get boned. I actually think TCU may be the best team in the country, but even if Nebraska upsets Texas(and I think they might) they won't get a chance at the title. I think JCochran is right, even if Nebraska does win, Cincy, TCU, and Boise State will probably still get left out in the cold and we will see a rematch of the SEC championship. The only thing that will help TCU or Cincinnati is how badly Bama beat UF. Even if Cincy or TCU does get lucky and get in the big game, that will still leave two very good undefeated teams with no shot at a championship. When will they finally get rid of this BCS crap and give us a REAL champion through a playoff? I would even settle for a stinking +1 game for now.
  24. Spurrier taught them that look.
  25. How about McElroy easily outplaying Tebow so far?
