  1. I paid Sig $50 to remove the ambi safety. Much less chance of an accidental disengagement in my Kydex IWB.
  2. I'll bet everyone on this thread wants to swap some powder. I need WST or TiteGroup and have a couple of pounds each: CFR and E3.
  3. Classifier.... yeah that it. Cabin fever.
  4. JMB: How about an all-qualifier with shooting positions under the canopies? Charlie
  5. Springfield steel frame 9mm RO Compact. Spottings and prices please.
  6. You can "rebuild it from the ground up" but you can't figure out why it won't go into battery? If you don't like the takedown requirements of the two piece guide rod just shorten it 1/8" with a grinder.
  7. If you can hold 3" at 25 yards you are a heck of a shooter.
  8. Robert: Thanks for spending your day off setting up the match. Charlie
  9. At least a couple of us are driving from Nashville. Charlie
  10. Being a glutton for punishment, I too own a PT145.  Mine was problematic with the original magazines but shoots fine with the latest using full power ball but not everyone is as fortunate.  It went back to Miami once. Many, including mine, would drop the magazine without hitting the button.  Taurus refuses to modify the magazine catch to solve the problem but a few minutes with a file will do the trick.  Mine is fitted with a laser/light and serves as a bedside gun.  I laugh when I see Jessie Duff endorsing Taurus.  They must pay her a lot.  I'll bet the 1911 she shoots went to a third party for rebuilding.
  11. I too, own a PT709 that would not run well.  It rarely made it through a magazine without a malfunction.  Failure to extract, failure to eject, etc. I probably shot a thousand rounds of factory and reloads trying to find a reliable load.  (I work near Owl Hollow, it was a lunch time thing.) 115s through 147s.  Lead, plated, RN, JHP, FP....  The first trip to Miami, at their expense, did not help.  On the scond trip they replaced the slide and barrel.  I paid the shipping. (The thing was so poorly built that the cartridge rim wore a groove in the side of the slide.)  The good news is that it now runs with everything I put through it.   I put a Glock trijicon sight on the front and made a new rear sight to adjust the POI.

  13. How about a BUG division for the side match?
  14. You really shooting Saturday? Charlie
  15. Dale, John and that guy with the pony tail whose name I cannot rember put on a great match. We had about half experienced shooters and half new shooters in my squad, and the old folks made the new ones feel welcome. The Ft. Cambell contingent entertained us all with their gas masks. Even the USPSA loyalist had a good time even though this old fart beat him a couple of stages. Thanks guys!
  16. I shot my first match at 59 and got hooked. MCTS members welcomed my adult kids and they got hooked as well. Don't let a late start discourage you. I even got a knee replacement so I can keep up with the kids and shoot the shotgun I got for Christmas. See you in Dickson! Charlie
  17. How would that play in front of the jury?
  18. Sorry, the holter moves on my belt. It fits the gun well. I would still buy one for my PT709 if they made it.
  19. I just bought my third set after the boys got the first two. We like them, and I suggest these devices contribute greatly to range safety.
  20. I have one for my PT145. It moves around a lot. I think that this is caused by the gun being top heavy...... a short barrel and a heavy (10 rounds of 45 ACP) butt. I now carry a PT709 in an Ace single clip tuckable abd I think i will order the Bladetech when it becomes available.
  21. Take a look at the Taurus PT709
  22. Actually, Franklin Gun Shop has several Galcos but they don't provide any material between the gun and my tender flesh. They don't cover the thumb safety either. To you Glock shooters, thats a little thing that ....... nevermind
  23. I am looking for a tuckable IWB for my new PT709. Who in middle Tennessee has any in stock?
