  1. Isn't there a TWRA rifle sighting in range in Maury County?  I recall a newspaper article a few years ago.
  2. These steel shoots are great fun folks, and they are a good way to start the action shooting sports.
  3. These are great fun, low stress, and there is a rimfire division that does not require a draw.
  4. Thanks folks.  They supported my 550 so well I have to stick with them.  C
  5. I need a complete 650 set up for 40S&W. Any deals out there?
  6. Our family has 4 40S&W 2011s that shoot a combined 2,000 rounds per month in USPSA and IDPA competition.  All of them are more reliable than the Springfield 9mm 1911 I sold.  If you buy a new one, get from Brazos or Dawson. Besides, they are made in Texas.  This is NOT a CZ and variant flame, they are the first choice for USPSA production and IDPA SSP.
  7. I have a couple of unopened cans of CFE Pistol I would like to swap for WST or Titegroup if you see any.
  8. You will need it if you want to shoot IDPA but it can be sensitized so it only takes a slight movement to activate it.
  9. I paid Sig $50 to remove the ambi safety. Much less chance of an accidental disengagement in my Kydex IWB.
  10. I'll bet everyone on this thread wants to swap some powder. I need WST or TiteGroup and have a couple of pounds each: CFR and E3.
  11. JMB: How about an all-qualifier with shooting positions under the canopies? Charlie
  12. Springfield steel frame 9mm RO Compact. Spottings and prices please.
  13. You can "rebuild it from the ground up" but you can't figure out why it won't go into battery? If you don't like the takedown requirements of the two piece guide rod just shorten it 1/8" with a grinder.
  14. If you can hold 3" at 25 yards you are a heck of a shooter.
  15. Robert: Thanks for spending your day off setting up the match. Charlie
  16. At least a couple of us are driving from Nashville. Charlie
  17. Being a glutton for punishment, I too own a PT145.  Mine was problematic with the original magazines but shoots fine with the latest using full power ball but not everyone is as fortunate.  It went back to Miami once. Many, including mine, would drop the magazine without hitting the button.  Taurus refuses to modify the magazine catch to solve the problem but a few minutes with a file will do the trick.  Mine is fitted with a laser/light and serves as a bedside gun.  I laugh when I see Jessie Duff endorsing Taurus.  They must pay her a lot.  I'll bet the 1911 she shoots went to a third party for rebuilding.
  18. I too, own a PT709 that would not run well.  It rarely made it through a magazine without a malfunction.  Failure to extract, failure to eject, etc. I probably shot a thousand rounds of factory and reloads trying to find a reliable load.  (I work near Owl Hollow, it was a lunch time thing.) 115s through 147s.  Lead, plated, RN, JHP, FP....  The first trip to Miami, at their expense, did not help.  On the scond trip they replaced the slide and barrel.  I paid the shipping. (The thing was so poorly built that the cartridge rim wore a groove in the side of the slide.)  The good news is that it now runs with everything I put through it.   I put a Glock trijicon sight on the front and made a new rear sight to adjust the POI.
