  1. Welcome aboard from Erin.
  2. Welcome and come on in! Enjoy
  3. Welcome!
  4. Now they're up to $5610 as of about 7PM 4-2-09.
  5. I guess you're maybe thinking "blond" right? By the way, I'm at work in my office. The door is locked so I can't get to the other side to use my keys! Someone please make the call for me because I can't reach the phone from where I'm sitting! What I wouldn't give to have been able to have actually witnessed that going on. If I was an ossifer dispatched to that scene, I would surely have a complaint filed on me for pointing out the obvious.
  6. Aquaintance was trying to trade me a Century Arms AR today for my Sig 220. Until last night I didn't know Century even made an AR. With the Century Gun Butchers Incorporated name on it I won't even touch it, decision's already made there. But just out of curiosity, ya'll know anything about them?

    Sportical?

Haven't made any kind of decision yet on which brand AR to buy (hopefully soon). Been looking at some DPMS rifles. But what the heck is a "Sportical"?
  8. Yeah, I've been hoping the Darwin principal would take care of that one. Seems to be taking a long time though. And that's mostly all I've seen in there: know-it-alls and gun shop commandos. Forgot to mention the good ones: Tennessee Gun Country on Ft Campbell Blvd, Clarksville. Run by folks who know what they're doing. Mostly a good attitude too. My absolute favorite though is Jerry Zeigner of Dover. Jerry's a Dover PD officer (one of the good ones) and runs a very small shop at home. His service has always been outstanding and I've seen very few times I could find anyone who beat his price. Very friendly and very knowledgeable. Goes by Hill Top Gun Shop.
  9. What is Nashville Sporting Arms? Is that the one by the liquor store on Charlotte, maybe used to be Gun Mart II? If that's the same one that is hands down the absolute worst so-called gun shop I've ever been to! Very limited selection, high prices, and the worst personality/customer service I've personally ever seen.
  10. Well, I don't guess you'll have any more problems with the Yetti's and Cape Buffalo gettin all your corn!
  11. They should have just asked to see your permit, maybe even ran the DL #, then left you alone. Should not have asked for your SSN. You don't have to give it. As far as I know, those officers are not taking taxes directly out of your check, the KGB- uh, I mean IRS- does that. That's what the SSN is for. They should not have hassled you like that and should have told that park ossifer to go back to playing with his sqirrel. Just my two, but I've been a cop out here on the streets for a long time and it burns me up to see people treated that way.
  12. Outstanding!
  13. You mean they make em without rounds in the chamber? Ummmm, I know of a single person, at least who did. Sheriff's Deputy I know was on a very volatile scene. He arrived, took cover with the other officers, then asked a friend of mine "You think it'd be a good time to put a round in the chamber?" Reply: "Ya think? *#%^$&@##*$%%!" Turned out he didn't like carrying with a round in the chamber since he shot a hole in his floorboard. And, in answer to your next question, he's still with the same agency! If yur skeerd to carry one in the chamber, then don't. But, I figure, if by some sudden enforcement of Murphy's law I do put a hole in my leg, I'm still going to keep the survival mindset and put a hole (or several) in the thug who was trying to put a hole in me. When I'm off-duty, I do carry a revolver (SP101), just cause I prefer wheel guns, so I carry one in each of several chambers.
  14. Aren't those both the same?!?
  15. Or is he a "Republicrat"? Or as one friend of mine put it, a "Demonrat".
  16. Yeah, it can get a little uncomfortable at times, I understand that. I've often thought about changing jobs. I've thought that if I worked somewhere that didn't allow guns on the property, I'd try to find somewhere for secure storage off-site until I got off work. It's just hard to imagine that being practical for me to actually do, though.
  17. The troopers were probably conducting a driver's license check point, they do that (and other weird stuff at weird times). Most of the time when I pull someone over they show me their HCP with their DL. I've never demanded it. The only thing I've ever fussed at a few people about is having their HCP, but leaving the piece at home. Me: "Now what good is it going to do you if you need it and you left it at home?" Driver: "Hmm, good point, guess I'll start taking it with me." I usually ask that question after I give the DL back and they're free to go (with no citation the vast majority of the time). We usually have a good friendly conversation after that and I wind up spending way too much time on a traffic stop just talking and making new friends. I don't mind doing this, though, because MOST of the HCP holders I run into are good decent people. I've just never understood why someone goes through all the Bravo Sierra to get the HCP, and then won't carry. By the way Jackdog, you probably know to run under the speed limit in Dover. I'm sure I don't have to tell you what a nightmare speed trap Dover is.
  18. I think you conducted yourself very well and showed the store employees a very good example of a responsible gun owner. I think it would eventually get worked out with the owner, but I can't disagree with taking your business elsewhere.
  19. Hey, I resent that comment about the "ex-girlfriend." I've had many ex-girlfriends. Naturally I've found guns MUCH MORE RELIABLE!
  20. Light weight 38. I agree though, my 1 or 2 EDC's are there to get me to my truck and the companion behind the seat. Reckon that there's a nice picture of Carl there Astra, mmmm-hhmmmm! Reckon a feller ort not go without a backup, mmm-hhmmm

    MBR?

Been really wanting an MBR to keep around. Been thinking about selling/trading my Sig220 45 in order to get one. Shows a little holster wear, but mechanically great, 8 mags (2 sig, 1 mecgar, 7 promag), about 500 rounds of 45acp, 2 sets of Hugue grips. I'll do a little research on what I should expect to get for all that. I've been looking at the AR's, but the brands I like are so over-inflated price-wise I could just about buy a new house and truck for the price of one:screwy:. Also been looking at the AK's. I do trust the action on those more, but I'd take either one. I'm pretty familiar with what's good and not so good in the AR arena, but not so much the AK. Any suggestions on a good one? I'd love to have a Vepr, Vector, or Arsenal. Or a Bulgarian, but I don't know if I can afford one. Buddy of mine has a Mak-90 that's a possibility, but I'm not sure I want to trade my Sig for a Mak-90 even if he comes up with a good boot of mags and ammo. Just not as familiar with them I guess. I'd like to be able to make a deal where I could trade to someone for a good quality rifle and both of us could go home with a good pile of mags and ammo, whether it be an AR or AK. Any suggestions?
  22. I forgot, my wife will have to come too.
  23. Astra, if you and your wife are looking to adopt, I won't eat much (big lie!), I won't make much noise, and you won't have to keep me entertained, I'll just sit around and play with the guns.
  24. AMEN BROTHER, PREACH ON!
  25. I'd love to try the HST. I just don't want to mortgage the house to do it for 357. I'd like to have a boat load of each for the 45 and 357.
