I've been involved in the gun business one way or another for over 30 years. I was privileged to learn a lot from the late George Crouse, who sold mostly European rifles and shotguns at the old Pope & Goodman gun shows. I've seen hundreds of guns come into play for working up a trade one way or another. I've worked TN gun shows from Memphis to Morristown and almost every stop in between. Big towns, small towns. I'd thought I'd seen everything there is to see regarding something that goes bang. I've even held the very rare Whitney Wolverine and a two-position rifle.
While cruising through Gun Broker I submitted a bid on a H&K H4 in .22LR caliber. Of course the system laughed and rejected my pitiful bid immediately. As I sometimes do, I went to the button to "see seller's other listings". Scrolling through there I saw this never-been-seen-before-to-me revolver.
It's in .38spl and it's Italian made, of course. (They & the French build the weirdest things, IMO.) Current bid on GB is over $2K, so apparently the value & quality are there. I guess it helps it's in a common caliber & not some eclectic Euro caliber that no one makes ammo for in the US.
If anyone has held one, I'd be interested in hearing about it. It appears to be well-made and smooth looking despite the oddity of its appearance.

Ehhh, don't get wound up on chit you can't control, IMO. Could very well be S&W is having a hard time getting good help like everyone else these days? It's not like one can just run a newspaper ad asking for a gun smith & have 10-12 guys respond. My motorcycle dealership is having a helluva time getting and keeping good mechanics. They pay well & all that but sometimes guys just have money waved at them & the location is sometimes too hard to turn down (warmer climate, etc).
I've read lots of threads around the internet about guys having warranty work on their cars/trucks & it taking 5-6 weeks for parts, etc. Try doing that with your daily driver & the dealership not giving you a loaner. Yes, they were pretty hot about it & I can't blame them at all.
Might be an opportunity to work something new into your carry rotation? Make sunshine out of chit?

Certainly good advice there.
I was taught to carry the flashlight out, away and forward of one's body. Keeps the light away from one's torso & (hopefully) keepsone from getting hit should the perp take a shot at the light. Make much, much more tactical sense than using one on one's pistol, IMO.

Can you say if it's heavier than the Sig 938? Mine is pretty darn stiff, I'd say close to 9-10 lbs. For a carry gun, I can live with that extra bit of safety. A self-defense ND is not my idea of a good time.

I've seen similar things in my life. I too was a Marine & had a close friend hang himself on NYE while on guard duty at Camp LeJuene. I dealt with all those things, thankfully without alcohol or substances of any sort. Of course, not everyone is made the same or has the same experiences or reactions.

I have read that, it's pretty funny looking back on it. Given the design of the very first few tanks, I can understand some of their arguments.
But that's more apples to oranges, IMO. A more appropriate argument would be the switch from gas to diesel to gas turbine in a tank, IMO.
Urban areas are more conducive to an electric vehicle. Rural areas, not so much. They should make those designers drive around Montana, Wyoming & so forth. See what it's like to be 500 miles away from the nearest city. At least in my truck I can carry a couple of 5 gal gas cans for emergencies.

The Sienna van is a nightmare to work on. Odd, given Toyota's past record of good designs, IMO.
I wonder if the shops didn't go higher to scare you off so they wouldn't have to do it? Or, if you agreed, they'd be certain it's worth their while.

Why the take-down lever? I get some people are too blanking stupid to field strip a gun, but the original method worked just fine, had no moving parts and was simplistic in it's design and operation, just as John Browning designed it. That's like touching up the Mona Lisa or adding some scenes to the Sistine Chapel, IMO.
I get everyone has their own tastes, that's what drives the gun market, IMO. In this instance I believe someone wanted changes just to say, "Hey, LOOK at ME! I improved the Hi-Power!"
Of course, I could be wrong about all of that too. Wouldn't be the first time. Sales numbers will tell the story, as they always do.

I realize everyone has their preferences. I, for example, carry my 1911s in Condition 2, something that sends many 1911 owners into a first class tizzy.
Regardless of what method one uses for a light, there's no debate it does offer a point-of-aim to a perp. Hopefully, he'll hold his gat sideways...................

A long, long, long time ago I had a retired cop teach me some things about clearing an area, The second thing he told me (first thing was wear clothes & shoes, i.e. don't go out nekkid!) NEVER have a light on your gun, gives a perp a perfect aiming point in the dark. He said instead, hold a light out AWAY from your body & out in front of your body. That way if it does attract gun fire, it won't hit you in the torso. Everything he told me that day made perfect sense, even now 30 years later.
I had a guy argue the light thing one time with me. I asked him if he would wear a yellow reflective vest as well as have his light on? He didn't answer me as I may have made my point with him? LOL!

Beretta 92FS mags were only 15rds when they first hit the US. They needed to compete with the Glock 17, so they had Mec-Gar do a better designed mag for it.

Very impressed with the fit, finish, and overall build quality. Impressed with the feel in the hand and the adjustability of the replaceable backstraps and grip side plates. Not sure I love the mag release yet and hoping the slide release breaks in over time. If not I may have to find an extended slide release. It sits in nice and clean/snag free but takes a little more effort then I would like to release.
My second H&K and I will be buying more in the future. A VP9L or VP9SK may be one of those purchases to accompany the VP9T I just got.Why are you using the slide release at all? Why not sling-shot it?
I carry a VP9SK with 13rd mags. Trigger is just unbelievable on those things.
No one, and I mean NO ONE ever owns just one H&K.

Only one failed but since you have to take the intercooler, filter housing, charge pipes, battery, battery box, ecu, throttle body, intake manifold, PCV valve and tube, EGR pipe, MAP sensor, HPFP housing, and fuel rail off to get to that one injector you better spend the extra few hundred dollars to replace the other 3 injectors. Then you better think about upgrading the injector seals which are a known weak point in the engine. That is an extra $200. Then since you have it all apart you should probably replace the PCV valve, intake manifold gasket, throttle body gasket, and the bypass valve body gasket. Also while apart you should consider cleaning the intake valves since they will be covered with carbon and oil deposits, since it is a direct injection motor. Took me 4 hours to pull it all apart, another 4 hours cleaning the valves, and about 2.5 to 3 hours putting it back together. I spent roughly $800 to $900 on parts to do it myself and that was finding a deal on the OEM injectors from someone who bought them but then got scared of the work to do the job themselves.So what's yer point???????

I asked a buddy of mine that very same thing.
He said it would be an EPA/OSHA nightmare of unimaginable proportions. He has a strong background in mfgr, specifically at an aluminum plant in Waverly decades ago.
He thought between the ventilation, drainage of the floor, filtration systems, etc, it'd be millions of dollars before the actual mfg equipment got purchased. That includes the bldg as well, of course.
Then there's the limits of getting the actual primer chemicals to make them. There's a reason almost all primer plants are outside the US these days.

I also agree with the holster scarceness for a mounted light. And what if you need a light but no longer need a pistol? You willing to shine a light on a small kid who needs help, especially when said light is still attached to the gun? Lots of "uh-oh's" in there, IMO.

While I don't totally disagree with you on the pricing, the 509 series pricing is pretty good, IMO.
Take the run of the mill FN .45 & it will shoot rings around any Glock with the factory barrel. Some people (like me) are willing to pay a bit for much better accuracy.

A shop I worked at had a couple. The trigger is pretty decent as I recall. It was supposed to be the best/better alternative to the Glock, IIRC?
As Warrig mentioned, the recoil mechanism is in the little box below the muzzle. This system was kinda/sorta imitated with the Kriss guns, IMO. The old Luger P-08 kind of did that but they had theirs in the rear of the slide, down in the grip portion of the frame.
The Hudson is a substantially feeling gun, with some heft to it. The forward weight should really cut down on the muzzle flip when firing. I admit to never having shot one, for the record, only held them. I'm not positive but I think their mags are also proprietary?
This would be a cool addition to someone's collection due to the recoil design, IMO.
