  1. I had a ton of fun.  Thank you for setting up such a nice match.
  2. I will be there.  I might hang up the 300blk and shoot a regular AR like the cool kids.
  3. I enjoyed the match,  I will be back next month for sure... next time with a better idea of where my rifle hits at 200
  4. Finally bought a shotgun and am planning on being there.
  5. haven shot at this club in years and never shot 3 gun, but i am on the way as well
  6. I do it all the time.  But I use weapon mounted hearing protection :pleased:
  7. I own/have owned many pistol including ones more expensive than you typical kimber. BUT it must be said that a kimber is FAR from even a good choice in their respective market. Simply put I have seen more kimbers go down than any other gun. I am not going to go on a huge tirant about them but if anyone is interested there are quite a few threads on various website that speak to them. 10-8 forums comes to mind.
  8. As the "gun guy" someone actually came and asked about purchasing a suppressor for his gun for hunting. Unfortunatly I was unaware of the truth and told him that it wasnt legal based on what someone told me earlier. When I got home I wanted to make sure that i didnt mislead him so I started looking around. Now I have to find him and tell him I was wrong:rolleyes: Oh well at least now I know the legal truth.
  9. Well i called twra earlier today and left a message with my question and recieved a call later. The nice lady on the phone( i left a message with the general counsel number given on the twra site pdf of the pamphlet) said that it is perfectly legal to take game with a weapon using a silencer/suppressor provided that silencer/suppressor was legally owned.
  10. Why use a suppressor when hunting? Simple reasons 1. It is curtious to others and to the people that are being nice enough to let you hunt on their land to not be causing excessive noise around them thier families and their livestock. 2. In case you dont know hearing loss is cumulative and gunshots without hearing protection DO cause irraparable hearing damage. You can either put the hearing protection on/in your ears or on the gun. If it is on/in your ears than EVERY sound is affected if it is on your gun only the gunshot it affected. So if you use a silencer/suppressor you get the hearing protection benifit without hampering you ability to hear things such as animal movement and even more importantly other hunters who may need help(think your child who just fell out of tree). Most people simply take the hearing damage but I would prefer to protect my ears. 3.... Insert whatever you want because if you were legally able you dont need a reason. Also it should be noted that on basically all rifles commonly used for hunting the silencer/suppressor is not going to make the gun sound like something out of an old spy movie. The gun will still make noise. For instance my rifle sounds much like a 22lr when shot with a silencer/suppressor on the end.
  11. I looked through the current regs and unlike previous years where suppressors/silencers were mentioned there was no mention of them. Is it now legal to hunt game in TN with a suppressor?
  12. wow... I wonder if any of those guys ever thought that they could draw, fire, and continue firing either standing, kneeling, or advancing and have all their hits on target in the same amount of time only it would be alot more hits.
  13. First of hello to everyone this is my first post. I have to agree this is a good drill. I did it about a month ago after I read the post on pistol-training.com and I think that it is a very good test of multiple skills. I have only done the drill on one occasion where I dit it 8 times(50rd box). Though I am hoping that with enough practice I can get a run in under 4.00 in shortly.
