  1. Every collection needs a cowboy gun. The Rugers are great. I have American Western Peacekeeper .357 Sheriff's model that such a good copy of Colt SA Peacemaker that Colt sued for Patent infringement. I love the .357 versatility. Enjoy your Ruger!
  2. Graycrait I have fullsize 220r with a .22 conversion kit and a 229 Carry Elite all SAO . These are all very Accurate with Great SAO triggers. As good as any high end 1911.

    New toy....SR1911

Just saw my 1st one at my LGS-TriCities Gun Depot. It is a nice pistol . IMO a much better effort for a first gun than Remington's.

    Hiking Pistola?

Would the new Kel Tec PMR 30 work? Would 30 rounds of .22 mag in a pistol that is less than 20 oz. fully loaded be adequate?
  5. I have had mine for a month. The key to it feeding is that its picky about how u load the mag and how they stackup in the mag. Mine runs flawlessly. 30 rds is unbelievable FUN ! PS, I have a Green Viridian Laser on mine.
  6. Thanks for all the input guys. I haven't made any kind of decision , but i will consider all that was said very carefully .
  7. I now have over 1200 pieces of once fired 45acp brass. Is it time for me to start reloading? Can i actually save money and is it worth the startup cost? I want to do it safely and would probably start with a hand press or single stage press. I can afford a high volume press but am interested in safety and precision not speed. Any insight and info would be appreciated. Thanks:) PS: I have already read through Musicman's Sticky. I need personal experiences w reloading 45acp. Thanks
  8. Saw one at my LGS for $339 plus tax and check. It definately looks to be better quality than Chiappa's 1911-22 , but in my opinion ever so slightly better in fit and finish. I liked it but couldn't make myself pull the trigger and buy it.It just didn't feel right. Well, 3 hours later I'm in a local Pawn Shop and low and behold there sits a Marvel Unit 1 1911-22 conversion kit commander size. I check it out factory target .562 group at 25 yds and the kit looked unused. Clerk says it was pawned along with a Kimber 1911. Well these cost about $425 plus options. I got it for the otd price of $260. Get it home ,put it on my Springfield lower and off to Kettlefoot ; it shoots GREAT ! Talk about being lucky wow!
  9. I had one of these and actually great gun ,but I couldn't get accustom to the Heine straight 8 sights. The gun holds 10+1 and is about the size of XD9 sc. I am looking at the compact 1911s.

    S&W M&P 15-22

It is a very fun and accurate rifle...just ask my daughter. Mine shoots most all ammo ...just make sure you pay attention how you fill the mags. Search this forum for more info.
  11. Here they are with my old man 5.11 fannypack; other item is my Blackhawk slide holster.
  12. Just got rid of 2 Taurus pistols, a Millenium Pro III .45 and a model 85 ultralite 38 spl. Good guns but time to move on and besides I got 2 years membership to the NRA. Got a new Springfield 1911A1 GI .45 and a used like new S&W model 360PD .38/.357mag snubbie (scandium/ Titanium and 11.4 oz Hand Cannon). Pretty good upgrade to my collection. Now for some mods to the SA 1911 GI and Crimson Trace Lasers for both! Oh HAPPY DAY !

    Which .22LR

1:7 or 1:9 fine but 1:12 better. I am sure the conversions are fine but the 1:12 will be better for precision accuracy. Of course this is at greater cost.
  14. tacturtle

    Which .22LR

Guys the conversions are great, but if you want greater accuracy you need the correct twist barrel so you would need a complete upper w correct twist or one of these new dedicated rifles. I recommend the Smith 22-15.
  15. tacturtle

    Which .22LR

I have had mine for 2 monthes many rounds very few feed problems. Search on this forum , I have posted before very accurate and there is nothing wrong with polymer(please don't call it plastic). Mine feeds most everything pay attention to how your load mags and keep gun clean. Best simulates an AR and my kids and wife love the rifle! It is the most fun gun I have.
  16. Isn't the sig 522, colt m4 and gsg all actually umerex products?

    ak-47?

Hey Crash with all due respect Vepr are far from the bottom of the list. However they are no longer imported but among the best variant ever made! Obviously you have no knowledge of them.
  18. Take a look at the S & W m&p AR 15-22 is a AR15 style .22rf . Just got one and its a very fun gun. Just ask my 16 yr old daughter.
  19. Also just ordered 3 extra mags @ 17.99 each from 44mag.com Better price than direct from S&W
  20. OK guys got mine. Out to the range to try the new toy and I talk my 16 yr old daughter to go. Now the test, I have some Rem golden bullet 36g HP bulk pak notorious for failure to discharge and/or feed. I also take along a bulk pak of Fed .22 auto target just in case. Well I shoot first mag no problems. Then I get my "not interested daughter "to try in out. She starts shooting after brief directions from me. We start out shooting thin 6oz. pineapple juice cans at 25 yds ;she starts out slow and then gets the hang of it. Then I move them to 40 yds and she is hitting them without much trouble. I mean she is exploding the cans and its flying 2-3ft in the air. She says this is FUN ! I never get to shoot it again. We shoot about 250 rds with about 5 failures. I found this out, load mags one bullet at a time. Insert bullets all the way to the back of the mag. The back rims of the bullets must stack on top of each other and not overlap. Also the bullets should tilt upward slightly in the mag. IT IS A FUN GUN AND VERY ACCURATE !!! Buy before the prices increase to over $500; I paid $450 at my local gun dealer.
  21. I would rather have a dedicated rifle to practice with. It also has 1:16 rifling for better accuracy than 1:7 or 1:9 . Plus my teen daughter and son will love too shoot it.
  22. Thinking of buying one to simulate my AR. Who has one of these and opinions please. Also is it true the centering piece can be taken out of the forend and presto the barrel is free floated?
  23. What kind of AR do you have REM? I have a VEPR K .223 and I have been considering going AR? It is King of AK's could be best Russian AK; built on RPK reciever.
