  1. Sorry, I was thinking of 6.5 Jap. That stuff is GOLD!!!! The Carcano ammo can still be found.
  2. If you are referring to a carrying case, and not a wooden gun rack or safe, DON"T STORE A GUN IN IT!!!!! They will collect moisture with changing temperatures, and the case won't enough air in to dry the moisture. There starts the rusting problem.
  3. Any but #5. The only reason I say that is because I have it's twin brother. I love em all....I just can't find any I can afford. 4,3,1,6,2,7 would be the order of interest, with #4 being the most interesting to me.
  4. I hope it comes with ammo!!!
  5. You could probably trade a Winchester for one of those Savages.:D
  6. You'll need it appraised and insured seperately. Otherwise, your insurance ajuster will want to pay you a hundred bucks or so for a generic muzzleloader.
  7. Roadshow Archive | Fake Confederate Sword "APPRAISER: Real Thomas Griswold & Co., with an original scabbard, in pretty nice shape-- you're going to be 10,000 and up. " When I google Thomas Griswold, the predecessor of A.B. Griswold, I found this info about a Griswold sword, and it caught my attention. http://historical.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=674&Lot_No=72245 It appears to have quite a pedigree!!! I think I'd have it appraised and possibly insure it. I'd be interested in seeing an appraisal on it.
  8. No doubt that shotgun is a high quality piece. It appears to be in very good shape for it's age as well. I think you have an expensive piece there. Thanks for sharing. I love to see old, odd, and interesting firearms.
  9. Civil War Preservations - Museum - Conferate Revolvers That's a beautiful shotgun. Looks like the were made in New Orleans, La.
  10. Different ammo can affect the point of aim a bunch. As I recall, faster ammo will shoot lower than slower, heavier bullets. It sounds counterintuitive to a rifle shooter, but the faster, lighter bullet leaves the barrel before muzzle rise caused by recoil can change the point of impact as much.
  11. Why do you need a warranty for something that works?
  12. Yeah, my dog is at the vet with an IV in it. I once knew how to fix problems such as this, but my wife and kids think more of the dog than they do of me. My youngest has strep throat and scarlet fever, and I'll be danged if my throat isn't starting to get scratchy as well. My oldest is on his way to the Orthodonist. $$$CHA-CHING!$$$ But guess what; these are temporary problems that we'll look back on and laugh at. Life's short....live it and get the most from it you can. Kegger, I hope you'll take a bit of advice from someone a bit older without getting your feelings hurt. Times like these are why you don't spend all your money as soon as you get it. An emergency fund ensures that you don't have nearly as many emergencies. I wish someone would have told me this a long time ago. Merry Christmas!
  13. That is a mighty fine collection of Winchesters!!! Cool Colt too.
  14. PM sent.
  15. I wouldn't have a clue, but would be interested in seeing pictures.
  16. I've been using a Lee anniversary kit for more than 15 years now. I always thought I'd upgrade later, but as of yet, I haven't felt the need.
  17. Second grade. I wasn't aware he was killed, nor did I know who he was.
  18. He's a fine one from what I know. I just saw an opportunity to pick at him a bit and took it. Actually, he didn't look near the age in his profile.
  19. Rock on, Shepard Smith! You can't blame him for that honest mistake.
  20. I have an 03 "Springfield". It isn't a handgun however. I also own a Springfield shotgun.
  21. mousegunner, I've had the priviledge of meeting you, and at the risk of offending you, you are getting dangerously close to being a Curio/Relic yourself.
  22. Now you guys make me wanna shoot one!!!! I never get finished buying rifles.
  23. How does $27.99 plus shipping sound? Lee Pacesetter 2-Die Set 8x56R Austrian-Hungarian Mannlicher (8mm Hungarian M31) - MidwayUSA
  24. It doesn't get any better than this. I was as scared as I've ever been when we were sent home, all alone, with our first child. He didn't come with instructions or anything. I couldn't be prouder of my children, and know you'll feel the same. Spend all the time you can with your child. You won't regret it.
