I think without the lid it will have no real value. You can fix rust and touch up paint but anything you do to it will actually decrease the collector value of it. I do see what you mean about it being nice in the truck for shows. Nice accessory and all.

how many shots do they take at an individual target in these ragged hole groups? I have found no ammo that does not produce a flyer now and again.

that green tag ammo is like gold I guess, very difficult to find. I can shoot an amazing one shot group with most any ammo.

I am not sure if this is what you meant, but you can't ship ammo through the US postal service that totally sucks Mark. I bet the guy had not swapping on his mind the entire time. Was it someone from TGO? NO way am I shipping to a member here if I have not had some interaction with them prior.

I believe all Savage .22's have a studs on them for a sling and bi pod. Some models of their .22's do not have iron sights. For me that would be a deal breaker, it is fun to use them sometimes.

I suppose somebody somehwere can shoot that kind of group with a .22. Please do take pics if he does it again. I am curious as to what ammunition he was using too.

80,000 troops? Isn't that some crazy amount of people? Does the military even have that amount of personel for something like this?

I have three scopes i use on 22's. a BSA 3x9x32, a totally generic 3x9x40 and one that is fixed 4x32 I think. None of them were expensive. 30 to 40 bucks. They all hold zero just fine. I have not seen any difference in point of aim and point of impact at any magnification. When I bought my MK ll GL the guy tried to sell me a scope that cost three times what the rifle did. I laughed at him and asked where the less expensive scopes were. The BSA I picked out works great. Came with rings. I don't know but I am not spending 3 or 4 hundred dollars to punch paper from a 160 dollar rifle.

I am glad you understood Dave. My father was in the Navy, he died when I was six months old but his service had always been a point of pride in the family. He served in the Pacific in Hawaii as an aircraft mechanic. Serviced planes from the Enterprise. Somewhere in the 60's my mother became very anti military and anti gun Probably due to Viet Nam and the Kennedy's ?? When I was in high school joining the military was flat out discouraged by counselors and priests alike. IIRC only 2 guys out of my graduating class joined the military. Anyway my hat's off to all of you guys

I just heard this on the news. They said soemthing to the effect reatil sales are up this much. I have noticed gas is up. Is gas considered a retail sale?
