  1. Echo 3 are going to take care of it! Pillar & glass bedding, free float the barrel channel & all that good stuff.
  2. I haven't, but they've done work for me before. I'll give em a call tomorrow.
  3. Used, in box. Unmarked condition with fresh battery installed (old one was fine, but if prefer to sell it with a new one) $250
  4. I have a kit already, been sitting on it for 5 builds now...... can't bring myself to do it. I can do most things & I'll attempt most of the others, but this is not me. I'm not going to lie, it scares the crap out of me. Frankly, I'm just not doing it. I need this to be someone else's job.
  5. Once I get my barreled action back from its current rebore (rem 721) I'd really like to have it bedded into the original stock. It's never been touched before & has no current bedding or pillars. Going from .30-06 to 9.3x62 in an 80 year old rifle has me concerned......I might even need a crossbolt. I have absolutely no experience with this, I don't know where to start & frankly the entire prospect has me thoroughly intimidated to the point that I'm not prepared to attempt it myself. Can anyone here recommend someone that would do it, or if anyone has experience & would be prepared to take a run at it, I'd be very grateful!
  6. Thanks Chris. It looks like this 9.3 is going to be hungry!
  7. I'm going to need around 3lb, if anyone has any. I'll buy an 8 pounder, if that's my only option.
  8. No dies yet. I'm still looking into that. I'm trying to figure exactly who makes them to CIP spec, rather than the '06 base. Thanks a lot for the load data, seems like Big Game is going to be the way forward, if I can find any! I'm really looking forward to this, it seems like the logical step up after my .358 & 9x57. I'll still need to do some work after Jesse gets it back to me (I think...) I'm undecided about adding a barrel band swivel & front sight. Purely for the aesthetics of the thing.
  9. Thanks, I really appreciate it. I've had great luck with the 220gn Speers in my .358 & 250s swaged down to .355 for my 9x57. I figured the 270 should be a good all-rounder. Hopefully they get them back out soon.
  10. Nossir. I picked up the donor 721 from a buddy in exchange for a cheap, BCA upper for his kid's AR. It's with Jesse for the next couple of weeks getting wallered out. I'll post pics when it's done, but she ain't gonna be pretty!
  11. Do you load for yours, or shoot factory? If you load, and are willing to share, I'd be very interested in your data. I placed an order last night for 50 pieces of brass & Prvi 286gn SP bullets. I know they're maybe not the best, but they'll give me fire formed brass & barrel break in all at the same time. I'm never going to get back to Africa, so this is purely a vanity gun. I'll hunt hogs with it & I'm sure it'll see a deer or two & I'd like to find a suitable bullet for that, but they seem oddly hard to locate. 300gn solids, however, are common as muck (and $3 each......) It's not going to be a pretty gun, that much I know. Far more Phil Shoemaker than Bors Blixen, if you get my drift.
  12. .366 actually. It's a shame that some countries deemed .375 the minimum caliber for DG as it would appear that the 9.3 was very well thought of as a Buffalo caliber.
  13. I've done it once or twice & honestly, I don't enjoy it. Having the pigs chased gets their adrenaline going & it toughens & taints the meat. Much more fun to take the gun for a walk to spot & stalk them in the thick stuff.
  14. I know I can't outrun or outfight either!
  15. Stalking through Texas, Florida & Georgia scrub & treating a pig hunt like a safari is as near as I'll ever get!

    9.3x62

Anyone have any first hand experience with this cartridge? Pet loads etc. I've got an old Rem 721 out to J.E.S. currently getting rebored & chambered to it because, well, I don't have one & I occasionally like to pretend it's 1912 & hogs are elephants or buffalo.
  17. Good job guys..... $105 on the Amazons. Lowrance HOOK2 Fish Finder https://a.co/d/3Ed6PmY
  18. That's some photoshop BS right there. . . . . You've NEVER looked that happy.
  19. I really don't like promoting them, but you won't find a better deal anywhere right now. It's been posted all over the kayak forums lately. I bought one & can highly recommend it.. https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/632852049?irgwc=1&sourceid=imp_XMlWp5wUQxyOWYbwUx0Mo38VUkDz6TX2TTjIRU0&veh=aff&wmlspartner=imp_150372&clickid=XMlWp5wUQxyOWYbwUx0Mo38VUkDz6TX2TTjIRU0&sharedid&affiliates_ad_id=568823&campaign_id=9383
  20. I actually just got sorted out, between Peacegeek & BCA, all done for $180!
  21. I'm looking for a 16", barreled upper with BCG. Nothing billet, fancy or spendy thanks! I going don't need handguards, rails, sights or gas system. Don't even need the castle nut. Just the barrel, receiver & bcg
  22. Strip it & sell individual parts on Ebay. You'd be amazed how much you can make from 'useless' gun parts, if you're honest about their condition. I've parted out several TC/CVA sidelock muzzleloaders that were beyond repair (obstructed or rusted out barrels etc...) that I've picked up for basically nothing, & turned 2 or $300 profit for the sake of a few trips to the Post Office.
