Hard to beat 39 variant.

I bought a New Holland 160 about 10 years ago when we were building our house as a cost cutting move. Figured it was cheaper to buy one than rent or hire someone for all the things you need to do around a construction site. It worked out great. I never could find a used one that I thought hadn't been ragged out and they seem to hold their value. (I absolutely hate having to work on tools before you can use them.) My plan was to sell it once the building was over, but it's been so handy for everything I still have it. Considered selling and getting a tractor with a bucket, but they just can't do what a skid steer can do.
The New Hollands were the least expensive compared to all the other brands, except for some of the unknown names. It's been a good unit. Has hand controls for the wheels and foot controls for the bucket. They seem to work good, I've never used one of the joystick type controls. The only thing I don't like about mine is in the cockpit. The way it's designed your elbows are right above a solid metal part of the structure and if you don't keep your elbows close to your body and the thing bounces around it can really mess with your funny bone. So much so I've considered gluing some padding there, but never have.
They aren't very good at digging. You can make them, but it's a slow process. It's also possible to dump stuff on yourself if you aren't careful particularly if you're on a hill. They would be a lot faster then any tractor with a bucket.

I've had pretty good luck finding decent units at pawn shops. I bought a cheapo mig and just use flux wire in it. I've got everything except a regulator to convert it to gas, but really for farm welding the splatter is not all that big of a deal. Made some plate racks. My son did most of those and learned quite a bit about welding.
I also picked up a nice Hobart tig set up at the same pawn shop. It's actually a small inverter made by miller with the Hobart label. I've done quite a bit of thin sheet metal welding and brazing. I've got about $600 in it with a regulator and a couple of small tanks. I converted a large oxy tank to argon. It will also do stick welding, but I haven't tried that. I used to have one of those Lincoln tombstone welders. Probably a US one. Worked great but I never really could get the hang of using a stick welder.

I was there and did get in. Got in line about 1:30 and we just barley made it in. He came on stage about 5 min after we found a seat. There were a few hundred empty seats 300 or so but only because they couldn't get the people through security fast enough.
It was a lot of fun. Went with my son and his friend who are big supporters. Was a good speech. Spanked the media's be-hind pretty good a couple of times.
Crowd was pretty revved up. Minimal issues other than some 20 somethings who thought they could cut the line as we got close to the door. My son and his friend are good sized boys and we weren't having any of it. They moved on around the back of the line after a few words and serious looks were exchanged.
It was cold and long and my foot is paying for it today, but it was a good time.

how much effort and how much pumping does it take for one of these? If using a hand pump are they operating at a lower pressure than if filled with a tank?

You're gonna love this little gun! I've got two of them and they are unbelievably accurate even with the surplus ammo. They have a bit of recoil and I've found the trigger guard can remove skin from your trigger finger. It will also fling empty cases about two or three shooting bays over. Often when you change mags you'll notice all the other shooters around you are staring.

I have cast and loaded some hard lead slugs. They shoot pretty good and it's cheap.

A few years ago there was a news report of a house near here, out in the country, being burglarized. The culprits didn't expect to find anyone home. They jumped in their truck and took off. The homeowner opened fire with his 30 carbine. Seems like one of his rounds struck the truck just right causing a mechanical failure and the truck careened off into the ditch. The sheriff arrested the suspects. It's was in the paper and on the 6 o'clock news at the time. I laughed, couldn't believe a 30 carbine could disable a vehicle like that.

They are great fun to shoot and pretty fast handling. I outfitted mine with vintage buttstock mag pouch. Adds a bit of weight when you put two full mags in it, but I like the way it looks and it's handy. You'll want an original type sling as well. Killed a skunk with mine a couple of years ago. Dropped him in his tracks.

Made a rule some years back, no selling of guns. Buying is good, but selling is a no no. Trading is also frowned upon.
Before this rule was implemented I had several I wish I still had.... Several Colt pocket 25s, Mauser HSC, Remington repo 44 black powder, Colt Grand African in 458 win mag., Charter 44 bulldog, couple of 1911s, Tec 9 with a fixed firing pin.. too many to list. And then there's that one gun I've always kicked myself for not buying, a 4" Colt Python nickle plated from the Colt custom shop man was it sweet. Could of had it for less than five bills, but five bills was pretty steep for me back then. It's steep today, just not for a Python.

I got a scope from their online store around Christmas when they were offering $100 off. Made it a pretty decent deal, but typically they are just too high on stuff.

I did connect it up once. It sort of eats through batteries and I have not decided how I'm going to remedy that, and the wifi off the scope makes them go faster. The time that I did use the phone app it worked great. This was before I had it mounted. Using the buttons on the scope to fiddle with the settings is a little tedious. I think many of those can be done via the app, which will be nice.
I tried some rechargeable batteries but it gave me a low battery indication right from the start. Not sure if my batteries were not fully charged or what. Rechargeable batteries don't put out quite the same amount of voltage as lithium which they recommend. The external battery pack is probably the way to go.

Took it out yesterday to check the 100 yard results. It was shooting almost 2 inches high. I moved it down to about an inch and quarter high which usually works well for me. Best group I was able to muster was about 5/8 inch. Should be good for a yote or two around here. Now if I can just get some field time.

Finally was able to get mine mounted and sighted in today. It's going to take a little getting used to. Zeroing it is a piece of cake. One or two shots and you're done.
The night vision is really good if you have a decent illuminator. The light that comes with it is just so so.
Lots of settings and do dads to fool with. We'll see how it pans out.

A buddy of mine has one. Seems to work fine, I'd be concerned about getting it fixed. Another buddy wanted an utv but didn't want to spend the bucks on a name brand. Bought a Chinese one in a crate. Biggest pile of junk. No parts available eventually sold it for 1/10th of what he paid.
