  1. my son has a PPS M1 version. Haven't shot it a bunch but it was pretty nice. It's accurate and does not kill your hand for a small gun. Nice trigger.
  2. My router arrived! Not super enthused about it, but not completely disappointed. Received it in 7 days of ordering from 4gcommunity.org, it was shipped from Pennsylvania. So far everything is as advertised. It's a legit program due in part to a court settlement regarding a company that Sprint bought out then shut down. The only disappointing part is I'm not getting the speed I had hoped. Sprint just does not have particularly good service in my location. The router is supplied by Sprint and you basically plug it in and it works. Seems to be a nice unit with two antenna. It's a Netgear 6100D. It has 4 ethernet ports and has a wireless connection at 2.4 and 5ghz. Initially I just used the wireless part but have now connected it to my wired network and it works as you would expect. I have moved it to a couple of places around the house and get anywhere from one to three bars of reception. Seems like the download speeds are not all that dependent on the reception strength. I had hoped to get 10 Megabits of download speed but it seems I'm usually around 5-6 instead. Oddly my upload is usually around 7-8mbps. It has dropped from time to time to less than one on download, but haven't had it long enough to determine if that's going to be an ongoing issue. I've got 14 days to return it so I'm going to stick it out for now and see how it works out. If it's fairly stable I'll probably keep it as with my wired att dsl I usually get less than 3mgbs. At less than $25/month it's a pretty good deal particularly if you're limited on options as I am. My cell phones are on Verizon and I occasionally set them up as a hotspot and I can usually get 25mbps download speed when I do. There is a huge cell tower less than a mile away and I'm guessing it's got verizon on it, but not Sprint unfortunately. Next week I'm going to take the router to my offfice in town and see if there is better reception and if the download speed is any better.
  3. got mine in yesterday, they were simply in the original box with a label slapped on. There was one corner that was torn, but nothing was missing and the individual boxes were intact. Looks like it had been well handled though.
  4. Does your gun say 22LR only? For some reason I seem to remember Mossberg offered an autoloader that could shoot shorts and longs even though you had to manually cycle them. Seems like there was a setting on the bolt or something.
  5. that's unusual I've always had good service out of PSA. Mine are due in today and tomorrow. Anxious to see how they arrive.
  6. best show there has been in Lebanon, although that's not saying much. decent number of vendors, was there around 1-2 and the crowd was pretty thin. I did see people buying guns and several of the vendors seemed ok with the show. I could not find any jerky!! You could however get your concrete leveled. The disappointment is there is just a bunch of all the same stuff on every table. Mostly modern black guns. I guess that's just the way things are, and are going to be. It may be that shows just peter out. With our gun salesman in chief being booted they may just loose their luster. With the internet it's a gun show every day and 25 buck transfers to dealer near you, I'm afraid it's a dying venue. And it's a shame too. I always enjoyed looking at a variety of guns, but they just don't come out any more.
  7. could have been a pretty neat article if it hadn't been written by a moron.
  8. It's actually the provider. If you click on the order button it then shows who the carrier is. Apparently they can't disclose the carrier until the order is placed in the shopping cart. Yellow is Sprint, pink Tmobile, there is also ATT and verizon but I can't remember which colors those are. The Verizon is the most expensive.
  9. great job! I like a little character left it shows that gun has some history. Mossbergs are great little rifles and are absolute tack drivers. I have a military version (42M I think) it's about my favorite .22, with the full length stock like yours. It has a peep sight and it will about out shoot anything out there. When I was a kid my best friend had a Mossberg auto loader I think it was just like yours. I know it had the full length stock. We used to wander in the woods all day shooting it back when 22 ammo was 99 cents a box.
  10. I went back and re-looked at this place. It's apparently legit. I sent them a question and they responded very quickly. It looks like they lease lines from the major wireless carriers then sublease on these monthly programs. We have good wireless reception here with an antenna close by. In googling around I ran across a forum discussion that seemed to indicate satisfaction with the service. It also mentioned two other providers with a similar offer. Both of those were geared more toward nonprofit/student type use but anyone can participate. The initial fee is a "membership" plus it also includes the shipping charge for the equipment how convenient. They were a good bit cheaper at $70 for three months service. I decided to jump in, head first I guess, and signed up with 4gcommunity.org they were the only ones offering a hotspot/router where all the others just have hotspots. I really need to easily connect my home network. I guess in about 7 days I'll know whether I've been taken or not. Supposedly they also have a 14 day trial period. Unlimitedville does not offer a trial. Wish me luck.
  11. says this place is based out of Nashville?
  12. I ran across them a week or so ago. Have you used them? The website is pretty sparse with any details.
  13. heck I'd feel like I was in the tall cotton if I could get 18!!
  14. I've got a good loan guy if you want his info.
  15. yep, I don't care a thing in the world about having access to cable TV. But if someone would require it in order to get real broadband internet I'd buy it! I'm paying $100 a month for my 3Mbt and a land line. You'd think for a 100/month I could find something. Dang cell phone bill is $250 a month. If you'd told me 15 years ago I'd be paying $350 a month for phone service I would have laughed and said never.
  16. ATT is definitely not interested in offering much help on a DSL line. I've got my Netflix on the low res setting, it simply wouldn't work on HD at all.
  17. welp, that's the end of that.
  18. may try and go on Sunday just to check out the new diggs. Need a couple odds and ends on AR parts.
  19. Best I've seen it since the BO was elected.
  20. I only removed what the wool took off. I didn't use any stripper, on the walnut stock I may have used stripper on one of them but it was a birch stock. I didn't really like the way it turned out. It needs some stain for my tastes.
  21. according to ATT, I have their 3 megabit dsl service now, I use as average of 120-150 gigs a month. We don't have cable or dish so we do stream netflix a lot. The service I have now barely will do the streaming and of course if anyone else in the house is trying to use the internet it's ssssssslow if not unusable. If I get higher speed I would expect even a higher usage. Streaming at 1080 would be nice as I can't now, and it would really rack up the data.
  22. Att does offer the unlimited data, unfortunately from what I can find out they don't allow it on a hotspot device or tethering or using your phone as a hotspot. The unlimited is for device use only. I was hoping. In checking with the other carriers they are all pretty much the same on wireless.
  23. I'm thinking about knocking on a couple of my neighbors doors. I can see their houses from mine line of sight, half mile to 1.5 miles. They have charter cable. If they would agree I could install a wireless bridge at their house and use it to tap their internet. There are some wireless devices that will go a few miles and aren't all that expensive so it should work without a problem. Question is would they be willing for me to do this? I don't know them.
  24. I like old Mossberg .22s I've two or three of them. Mine are all bolt actions. If it has the plastic finger groove trigger guard be careful with it, they can get pretty brittle. On mine I just used some steel wool on the stock and some linseed oil.
