  1. I have a PPQ-45 and love it. I keep it next to my bed with a green laser and a light. 12+1 of 45 caliber goodness.
  2. You can see a glamps of fur on it's chest. Bobcat for sure.
  3. Baby Face Nelson was shot 17 times with 45acp and 00 buckshot. He still managed to kill two G-men, get in a car and make it to a safe house, where he bled out. Sometimes the bullets just don't hit the right places.
  4. I watch a movie where Robert Duval was an assassin in South America. He used a North American Arms mini-revolver. He walked up behind his target on a crowded staircase, put the revolver up against his back and shot him. Then drifted off into the crowd unnoticed. The derringer is a "surprise!" weapon, a GTFO me gun.
  5. I own a couple of 1911s in 45acp but I don't carry them because of the thumb safety. Since I shoot revolvers and striker fired pistols, I am afraid I would forget to thumb off the safety in a 1911 style weapon. I do have a revolver that uses 45acp that I carry often. I think a man who carries a 1911 in 45acp is well armed. It's just no me.
  6. Great post! I have been seriously thinking of getting a 10mm pistol. I have shoot some at the range and thought they were very manageable. The picture below was from Sunday before last but that's not the 10mm I want.
  7. We haven't lost power for more than a few minutes, in 20 years or so and that was from an ice storm. For me, I just don't see spending thousands of dollars to save $300 worth of food in the refrigerator. If I lived in rural area or had a lot of money, I might be singing a different tune.
  8. I have never seen anything like this.
  9. David is wise, David is good. My Sig P-365 9mm made all of my .380s obsolete. Some people have physical limitations that may prevent them from being able to operate a small 9mm and to those people the .380 is an option. Since my reverse shoulder replacement surgery, I have gone back to .380s and I don't feel under gunned but roaming the recesses of Harris Teeter is about my limit these days.
  10. If it has an octagonal barrel, don't buy it. I had a Henry Big Boy in .357 magnum. The rifle was so barrel heavy that I got mad every time I shot it. I sold it. It is way out of balance compared to my Winchester 30-30 from the 1950s.
  11. BUT I just had my shoulder replaced and cannot shoot it for 6 months! It was made in Turkey. Does anyone have one of these and can give me some beta?
  12. You went out to pee? ! We must be related somehow!
  13. My little buddy Jamie James. Bichon Frize. I noticed that he sleeps in one particular place on the couch in the living room. I went over one morning to pet him and I noticed that from his sleeping spot he could see the driveway, the road, the back door, the front door and the hallway, all from this one spot. At night, I can tell if he growls, whether it's a dog or a person.
  14. They say people need to laugh out loud at least once a day to stay healthy. I am feeling healthy, thanks pal.
  15. Thanks for the post Turkeydad! I have many handguns but none of them are optic ready. I am still using iron sites. I just cannot justify spending money on a pistol with red dot sites that will make my other carry guns obsolete........I know, that is flawed logic. I am recovering from a shoulder replacement now and cannot shoot anyway. That will give me time to think about it.

    2 Pistols

I remember watching the TV show called "The FBI", back in the.........a long time ago. Efferum Zimbalist Jr, could down a helicopter with his snub nosed .38. I am recovering from a shoulder replacement on my shooting hand. I am having to carry on my left side. I wish I had practiced more shooting left-handed.
  17. That is great! A Glock 17 goes bang every time!
  18. THERE WILL BE NO MORE JOY!
  19. HEY HAMMAS. HELL IS COMING TO BREAKFAST!
  20. Say hello to my little friend! This little buddy has won a place of respect in my carry collection.
  21. I have Crimson Trace lasers for my G-19, 1911 and P-238. Yet I only have one in use right now on my Glock that is on my bedside table. The other two are in the safe. I took them off my carry guns because if I ever have to draw on someone, I want it to be as simple as possible. I am kind of old school. No red dot sights, no lasers on my carry guns and no high dollar race guns. I prefer carrying a J-frame revolver with a P-238 or P-365 as a back up. I recently purchased a Charter Arms Bulldog 44sp. I love it! a big fat slow moving bullet.
